Occasionally when I turn on I get an info box saying something like memory full at line 94. I click ok, and then continue and all seems ok. What should I do about it - everything seems to function ok.

I'm not the best person to be replying to this, Frederick, (my computer skills and knowledge are minimal at best) but I got the same window on occassion. Bullet "defragged" our computer and it seems to working much faster now. Have you done a defrag recently?

I guess it could sound that way, huh? Physically painful, no. Figuring out how to do it was a nightmare, though. And it is time-consuming. What exactly it accomplishes is beyond me, Bullet is the resident computer guru in our household. If Anastrophe or Tombstone were here now, I'm sure one of them could answer your question better. Or Flopstock. Bullet's asleep, or I'd ask him for you now. Maybe google "defragging your computer" could give you some help. I don't even know that this is the problem, so don't take anything I say as gospel!! It's just the first thing that came to my mind.

sixyearsleft wrote: It seams like you need to do some uninstalling and deleating, you should defrag your pc at least once a week, or just before you install new software, if you haven't done that then i suggest you need a crash course in pc maintanence,

you should get some info in FAQ section from your anti virus software

See? I knew there'd be someone along who knows more than I do. Thanks, Six! :yh_bigsmi

believe me i'm no expert but defragging is important especially if you have a small hard drive.
Already you know more than I do. I have to get one of my kids to help me program my phone, for crissakes.

I didn't know you should defrag weekly. That's news to me...does it take less time if you do it weekly?

De-fragging really works....go to Programmes - Accesories - system tools - Defragment and you're away. ..... choose a time when you're away from you puty as it can take a while if not done regularly. You can schedule your computer to this in the middle of the night once a week.

Look at it like this....it's like sorting out a filing cabinet...putting stuff into alphabetical order or some other system...it makes things quicker to find and makes you more efficient....well something like that anyway.

good luck...

sixyearsleft wrote: I'll give you a defragging analogy,

Its like when you go to work and you cant find a parking space,

you see that there's enough space for five cars to park, but becouse four cars are parked badly there's no room for the fifth thus waisting space ie memory, and what defragging does is pulls all the cars up to the bumper to make the maximum space available to park the fifth car.

Good visualization six....:)
