The Bubonic Plague infected a woman from central Los Angeles area. According to local health officials this is the first case of bubonic plague in Los Angeles County since 1984. Bubonic Plague is well known for causing killing approximately 25 million people in Europe from 1346 – 1351.
The woman was first admitted to the hospital on April 13th. She was running fever and had swollen lymph nodes along with other symptoms. A blood test confirmed the diagnosis of Bubonic plague and was given antibiotics. The family members were given precautionary antibiotics just in case they may get the plague.
According to local report on ABC 7 Los Angeles TV station, the health officials are puzzled as to why the lady got infected with the plaque. The health officials suspect that a squirrel in the neighborhood could be contaminated. She may have been bitten by a flea that was carrying the Bubonic plague.

Clancy, you know what you need? You need a nice long FAST ride on the back of my bike. It will clear your head and your sinuses, relax you, (for those poor, tight muscles) get your heart rate up, and some sunshine never hurts when you've got a cold. I'll pick you up, shall we say, 10 am tomorrow?? Bundle up in leathers, I've got a spare helmet. :yh_bigsmi
