ROAD TRIP Today!

Post by cars »

Ok so today I had to go on a Road Trip, 277 miles R/T. During the trip, I passed (I was going 72mph, 2 miles past the limit, don't tell LC) several "40" foot RV's, 2 of them "towing" Hummers, 1 towing a monster 20+ foot long boat, 1 Towing a large size car, & 1 towing a trailer with 4 motorcycles in it. It just reinforces the fact to the Oil barons that the apparent "glutenous" use/waist of gas will continue no matter how high they hike the gas prices! The saying goes: If you build it, they will come. Well Oil barons skyrocket hike the price of gas and the public will still buy it! Consequently the Oil barons are laughing all the way to the bank! It just seems wrong that many people have not changed their glutneous gas consumption ways, which is actually ruining it for the masses. :wah:

ROAD TRIP Today!

Post by AussiePam »

G'day Cars and Nomad. I like roadie trips. On the subject of those enormous gasguzzling RVs. I spent one Memorial Day weekend years ago camped out in southern Missouri.. Couldnt' believe those vehicles. They had TV, air conditioning, a complete house on wheels. One family in particular really tickled my fancy. I watched them set up a small white picket fence, for the weekend!!, then a welcome door mat, a couple of potplants and a gnome. And they took out a mower.. kid you not!! - and mowed their little patch of woodland. Round the campfire that evening, I took out my tin whistle and out of pure devilry played loudly in their direction - they came over and asked me to play Danny Boy.!!!!!! Lovely people. But weird. We all got friendly and ended up roasting marshmallows. This is all of course my usual style random digression...

Apparently it's not Saudi, but Iraq, and they suspect once Iraq settles down, we could see a 20% drop in prices. Yep read that in the Canadian publication called McLeans. What kills me, is at what dollar value will we see the 20% come off of, crikey do they think we are stupid.

Here around long weekend times we can generally see the prices spike out at a good +10Cents over the regular price, sad thing as of Easter when we jumped 8 cents, they have not come back down.
