Is this place going down for the count?

Where are you guys getting this from? I think things have been going really well the last couple days, people coming clean, people admitting to wrongs, folks making efforts to get along better than ever....I don't get it. FG isn't going anywhere, there's too much good here.

Geeze, maybe I'm missing something, but I'm happier here now than I was a week ago.

What makes you say this, Maxi?

There isn't any thing going on, you have some threads but as a whole there is nothing going on, there is so much friction.:-3

In --->my<--- opinion. There has been nothing but fluffiness posted in the last couple of days and that could be one of two things: it is strained and everyone is worried about pissing someone else off or it could be that the Nice Nazis are all over people about what they post.

I enjoyed coming here when there really good debates going on. No one wants to talk about politics, or creation vs evolution, or Public Policy. We all want to sit around and talk about why people have left, got banned, etc. POst counts, for God's sakes, is the most exciting debate going on right now!

I want to talk about stuff that can change the world. Fluffiness is nice but gee whiz, can we throw in a good hearted, passionate, and polite debate once in awhile?

I'm with BR .... can't quite see where you're coming from. It's a little quiet tonight, but it has been buzzing in here for the last few days.

I'm trying to see the good that has been made here lately. You can focus on the few negative things happening, but they are minor compared to some of the all-out wars that have happened in here before you joined up Maxi. If you think this is friction, you should have been here for the past 2 months! Trust me on this one, things are going much better than I've seen them before. I haven't yelled at anyone for a whole 48 hours! I haven't been snide, or rude, or mean, or acted like an ass to anyone! And if you knew me, you'd know that was MAJOR progress!! :yh_rotfl

FG is revolutionary. It keeps moving, and changing, quiet times, loud times, posting frenzies, times when it can go hours with no one saying anything at all, fights, make-ups, any and everything you can imagine. A bit of friction here and there is to be expected when you have such a diverse group of people who hang together a lot.

Hi Maxi, DG, BR, Bez!!! I agree with DesignerGirl but I think we're in a transition phase here and some patience is required. Old friends have been divided, as you know Maxi. We've been split in two and a lot of us suffered initial shock and had to work through this. We have all been pussyfooting about a bit, perhaps unsure how things would go. But from my point of view, there have also been posts here lately with a very deep kind of content. There was stuff that had to be brought out in the open too and discussed. Apologies etc to be got through and accepted, if we were to become vibrant again. Refining by fire takes a little time and there are a lot of very positive signs of not only a recovery, but that the Forum Garden is again thriving.

Yes, yes, yes!! People are tending to tiptoe around each other right now, not quite sure what to make of the slightly different FG. Once the dust clears, I'm sure things will return to what's "normal" for FG.

Absolutely correct BR...and it is the end of the week. People are tired and doing chores etc. Due to my FG addiction I had a huge pile of ironing to do tonight and I really MUST go to bed I've got a busy day at work tomorrow. :)

Stick around, Maxi. It may seem eerie to you now, but once you've hung with us a bit longer, and learned about the absolutely top-notch people here, you'll be glad you gave it a chance. This is a good place. I don't waste my time on crap. Well...anymore. :yh_blush :yh_giggle

Me too, BR !! And Valerie - you caused me a bit of consternation there... Grin.. I used the word meaning to walk daintily like a cat, but recognise it does offer a very narsty durrrty possible-meaning too.. hee hee. In fact, I looked it up in my Oxford dictionary and found that we have a countryman of yours to blame for this word. A Mr *****, no less. He was apparenly an advocate of liquor prohibition and believed in moving stealthily.

Thankyou Anastrophe for messing with my post. The bloke's name was actually Mr G "P*ssy" Johnson.
