The story of Bolster the giant begins with an evil giant who ate children and people at random. He makes his wife, Mrs Bolster carry boulders on her back day and night. The giant falls in love with a beautiful young girl called Agnes who steals his heart.

The Knight Sir Constantine and local dignitaries search for the Giant Bolster to face him in a fight to the death. He overcomes the challengers at Chapel Porth in a showdown.

But it's young, sweet Agnes who finally topples the giant.

She asks him to fill a nearby pool with his blood to prove his love for her, knowing full well that there is a hole in the pool which runs out to the sea, finally killing the giant.

So, if you're down St Agnes way, this weekend should be fun.
