Venice in Lego pictures

We have a Legoland in England. I've never been there but now I've seen your pictures, it might be worth a visit with the grandchildren. I guess it would only take an hour to get to....yes...definitely somewhere to go in the summer. Thanks for the pics....

For what it's worth

The REAL Venice is very expensive, dirty, and dingy.

It abounds with pickpockets and shops selling hugely overpriced tat.

The best way to visit it is to stay outside of the city and drive to the massive municipal car park just outside and walk in as the price charged by the few car parks in the actual city is exorbitant.

The best way to sight see is by water taxi or even water bus, far less expensive than the over hyped gondoliers who charge the earth.

Reasonably priced (by Italian standards) accommodation can be had in Lido de Jesolo – a not-to-far holiday resort that has the advantage of not excessively crawling with rats at night – something that is another Venice feature.

Another advantage by staying at L-d-J is the ease of visiting other places of interest not least Murano famous for its glass works, most of which have ‘factory shops’ nearby. Again expensive but better value than the ‘through the nose’ Venice shop prices.

One ‘must have’ from any visit to Italy is the Ice Cream. You can pay several pounds for a proper dollop dressed up with fruit and liquor at a pavement speciality café but it’s an Italian luxury that really is the best in the world!

Venice is not my #1 world destination for a break. Like Rome It’s possibly worth seeing once.

Now Nice, or Cannes, or even Monte Carlo, that’s different! Also (surprisingly) for the most part less expensive than Venice!
