Why thankyou BC, you're too kind. Well that sort of sprung up from the Senior being ticketed for crossing the road too slowly post a few weeks ago, by a heartless cop. In that post, it was discussed that in other countries, older people were called "Elders", as a term of respect from their younger folk. As opposed to being called "Seniors", which has turned into being a derogatory term here USA. Infering Slow, dim whitted, nasty, cheap, decreped, and too many other things to mention. So I thought I rather liked "Elder" member, as opposed to "Senior" member! Make sense?:)

Ed Bangs of the US Fish and Wildlife Service says that killing problem wolves can be effective and should continue to be used with other measures.

Why would you post something like that, Spot??

Wolf, a big WELCOME to FG. There's plenty to do here and it IS a huge place, and we are always happy to help new folks navigate the site. Have FUN!! :yh_peace

BabyRider wrote: Why would you post something like that, Spot?? I'm sorry, BR - it's possible that my post might have sounded unwelcoming. Nothing was further from my mind. I'm not very good at social nuance, I'm fully aware of that - a wave is a wave is a wave, in my book - there's nothing worse than indifference, and saying hello is far better than walking past the thread and leaving it ignored. What I get wrong is *what* to say, not whether to speak. If there's ten "hiya wolfie, glad ta see ya, enjoy!" posts up already then an eleventh is somewhat superfluous. And who needs smalltalk anyway, if it's from someone who has no grasp of it?

Wolfspirit, you have my apologies. I'm the bad-tempered git of the board with the broken sense of humor. Welcome to the madhouse.

Actually, I thoroughly enjoyed every single one of my own "Hiya, welcome, nice to meet ya" comments in my intro thread.

To pop into an intro thread and make a statement about killing wolves to a person who has chosen "Wolf" as part of her screen name was kinda creepy. That's why I asked. Glad you clarified, thanks. And yes, do get that sense of humor fixed ASAP, huh? :yh_wink

G'day Wolf. There's a bunch of Aussies about, Cobber. We're the ones in stylish akubra hats with cheesy grins. Welcome!! The Garden is a great place full of fine people - crazy people, eccentric people, gentle people, mudwrassling people, arguing people, peaceable people. Never predictable. Never dull.

BR - you've got me feeling all nostalgic and I'm gonna see if I can find my own intro thread.. I do remember the great welcome!!
