2 things I cannot tolerate: a liar and a thief. When someone lies to me, the trust is gone. If it's an online relationship, I'd question them privately. Regardless, no matter the answers, I'd still not be able to trust that person again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

oh i love, LOVE online liars. i mean like BIG liars. women that say they are blonde, six feet tall, and rail thin. I LOVE TO PROVE THEY ARE HAIRY MEN!

now, if it is a friend...someone you consider a friend. well, that just stinks. they are no friend at all. i've made two awesome friends online. i would be DEVISTATED if i found out they were lying. it would also depend on what they were lying about.

Live and learn I guess, but dont get too jaded. Im hoping there are more honest people than dishonest ones. If you start mistrusting everyone, you lose.

We all tell little white lies big deal. :p When it comes down the the big lies then that is different I don't lie, I don't want people to lie to me real simple I don't betray someones trust, I hope they feel the same.

If they lie it's no sweat off my brow, they are the ones that lose out in the long run. It take to much time and energy to maintain lies you have to remember all of them or whoops you get caught. Much easier to deal in the truth..
ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Those thoughts were so close to mine, I thought there for a moment that I had already answered this! Out of my head BR! :wah: I hate liars and thieves. I'd have to ask her privately why lie and she'd better have a darn good answer.

To address Snooze's original post, "lied through her teeth" means a big blatant lie. Integrity is paramount for me. If you "lie through your teeth" on one issue, how am I supposed to take your word for gospel on any issue? I can't. Therefore, any important meaningful information that I get from that person will have to be verified by someone else - because the trust is gone. It has nothing to do with the friendship, per se. I can still be friends, but maybe not a confidante.

Yeah what CARLA said.

Also agree with what BC said, the "degree" of the lie has a very significant impact to it!

Snooze you need to ask this person why or it will drive you nut's...

I have a neighbour who lie's about everything from the price of a handbag to claiming to be sober even when you can smell the achohol on her breath. Why..... i really don't know why maybe it's like a disease... they tell lie's and they actually believe whatever come's out of their mouth's or they think they are so convincing we (the victim's) are to stupid to see thought it .I believe to lie to somebody who trust's you is a dispicable thing to do and to gain somebody's friendship by being deceitful is a nasty thing to do and to convince yourself your anything other than what you really are mean's your kidding yourself and you will never be really truely happy and if your lying is so bad your life is based upon that lie then you need psychiatric help - sad really . I do think there is a difference though between telling a little white lie in order to save somebody's feeling's and a blatent lie to mislead or impress people and if you have to impress someone why would you want them as a friend to begin with ;) .
Can go from 0 - to bitch in 3.0 seconds .:D
