There are huge numbers of Australin names that are pornographic. Imagine a white squatter on his horse with his trusty aboriginal guide running along side him.

The squatter looking for a place to build his house would ask his aboriginal guide, "What namee that place, eh?"

It's quite surprising that English country gentlemen easily forget their native English when conversing with an aboriginal gentleman who is bilingual.

"What namee that place, eh?"

The aboriginal gentleman would reply in his own language, "You silly bugger" or other pornographic words that mean the thing. So the ignorant English squatter would name his homestead accordingly. The joke is he would never find out what it really meant.

So somewhere which we think was called 'land of the running buffalo' was actually called

'the BBQ and steak house, get yours here' perhaps?
