Many years ago a small boy strode through the front gates of the Guyra Central School in Northern NSW for the first time and aged 5.
He said in a loud voice, "Farewell cruel world, I'm off to join the circus!"
The staff were in stitches for days to come!
Take care,
Gordon.

Little known fact.....I invented the circus. That was my baby.
I AM AWESOME MAN
Today I was reminded!
Nothing to do with circuses, but more to do with this title!
Today I was reminded of when I used to live in Temple Fortune in Golders Green, London. Its a highly Orthodox Jewish area. I remember going to have my hair cut and the hairdresser laughing and saying how nice it was to chat to someone as she did their hair!
Apparently the Jewish ladies all left their wigs for washing and styling and picked them up later. Apparently they all shaved their heads and just wore a seletion of wigs all the time! :wah:
Even more hilariously, they all wore exactly the same style of wig, and they were all incredibly ugly! :yh_rotfl
Why on earth, if you're going to the bother of shaving your head and buying wigs, why not buy something glamourous to match your designer clothes???
Madness! :wah:

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.
WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

I believe there is a requirement for some Jewish wives to reveal the splendour and beauty of their hair only to their husbands, hence the wearing of the wigs. And of course the wigs shouldn't make them look attractive or tempting to other men so the wigs are meant to look very plain.
Thanks, that actually makes a lot of sense!
Much like Muslim women wearing purdah, I suppose.
I don't actually know if their heads were shaved or not, I'm going on what the hairdresser told me as I just assumed she knew best. :wah:

You ARE the circus. A one-man circus.
