The problem with the "Free Ipod" campaign is the fact that it is, at the base, nothing more than a pyramid scheme. You work your way up the pyramid by earning so may 'click throughs' to your specific referral id...hence the "r=8876092" appended to the end of the URL. As people click on that specific URL, your account gets credited for the referral, and you move up the pyramid.
Of course, the ultimate goal is to reach the peak of the pyramid, after you have reached x number of clickthroughs. I'm sure that far less than 10% of all those who attempt to earn that Ipod actually make it.
So, to summarize, this is in essence nothing more than another pyramid scheme, so take care before you attempt to partake in it.

i deleted the email address about two days later. i get enough spam, thanks.
