Not your favorite band you've seen live, but the live band that really impressed you...

I've seen a lot of artists in the who's who of music, but the one performer I would love to have seen live is Ian Dury.

Most fun bands, early Van Halen, solo Sammy Hagar, Sad Cafe, Aerosmith

Most disappointing: Heart

I really enjoyed seeing Puddle of Mud and Nickelback in concert. First time I had ever attended a concert with pyrotechnics. I jumped everytime something boomed, hubby was laughing his arse off at me.

Vince Gill was kinda dull in concert, but then again it was at Six Flags in Dallas and I was in the section where ya get nosebleeds.

Now this is really sad....but....a couple of years ago i saw Leo Sayer in a live open air concert....I sung along to every song and stood (and danced) on the tables to get a better view even though I was right at the front.

For a fun night, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band , was a great night out. :guitarist

Strangely enough , they weren't totally boring but, The Eagles came close. Great sound , and stuff, but I could have stayed in the pub

Know what you mean - Joe Walsh was superb but the rest were going through the motions. Don Henley solo was an incredible experience though

Clancy wrote: Every eye was on Joe Walsh....great songs , and that. I thing everyone had been Eagled out by then, Unc, everyone knew the songs, and there were too many slow songs. I think by that time they'd become something like their own tribute band.

I forgot to mention , Queen ...they were fun to watch, as were the Who.

Saw the Who in the post Moon period after I'd done some work on the show. They added keyboards and I thought they were fantastic. God knows how good they must have been in their heyday

I saw Vince Gill in one of our biggest venues in the area with great seats. I could have stayed home and cleaned the litter box and had a better time. He was incredibly dull. I love his music, but I'll never go to another of his concerts.

MOST fun band, though? Creed, because it was my son's first rock concert. Not to mention they were FABULOUS. Great pyro work and Scott Stapp has one of the best voices ever. My son and I were both wrecked when they broke up.

Second best? Gotta be Ozz-Fest. 18 bands, head-banging all day, going home hoarse and half deaf and it takes 3 days to recover.

Worst concert was Aerosmith... you couldn't even figure out what they were playing. Rumor had it someone had thrown a bottle up on stage in Los Angeles, and when they got to San Diego, they were in very bad moods and didn't give a sh*t.
Met Huey Lewis and Steven Tyler - both very nice chaps I must say...oh sorry - was that me name-dropping again? :o :wah:

Under duress, I was dragged to see Dr.Hook which turned out to be a brilliant show and they clearly had the crack onstage. The guy with the eye patch spoon-fed caviar to me after the show too

I'm going with the Barenaked Ladies from Canada - great musicians bordering on a comedy show.

Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon show at the Shoe in Columbus. Been to many concerts in my lifetime and not one comes close to that show. Simply amazing.

Once saw Nazareth where the band were mercilessly ripping the pi*s out of Zal Cleminson for the whole show. Their sense of fun transferred to the audience. It was a great night for everyone.....except Zal

Changing my vote: Just saw the Pogues with Shane MacGowan (how he outlived Joe Strummer is beyond me) at the Fillmore in San Francisco this week. Unbelievable... Catch it before he's gone - but then again, could have offered that advice 15 years ago...

Most fun (ny) Sha-Na-Na. Just take my advise and don't stand at the front of the stage. Bowzer loves to comb his hair and then Flap the grease at you.

Best concert ever... It's a perfect split. Led Zeppelin in 1973 at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park and Pink Floyd in 1975 at the Oakland Coliseum.

Best dance concert... J. Giles Band 1973/4 at Winterland in S.F.

Rockin'est concert... AC/DC hands down.

Worst concert... Peter Frampton at a Day on the Green. He was too drunk to even stand up and ran offstage to puke too many times to count.

Honorable Mention....

Elvis 1973 (?)

Styx in 1980

Journey 1982

Santana 1982
