Revealed: The Da Vinci cover-up hidden by monks for 500 years.

Post by gordonartist »

From Martin Penner in Rome

SKETCHES hidden beneath one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous works have been revealed to the public for the first time after scientists discovered the provocative images under a thick layer of paint. A bloody skirmish between knights, a clutch of figures rebuilding a ruined temple and even an elephant were carefully laid out by Leonardo in the preparatory “under-drawing” for his Adoration of the Magi.

In the version of the painting known to the world, in which much of the underdrawing is reproduced, these elements have been hidden.

Worth a read.

Take care,

Gordon.

I believe what actually happened was that Leonardo found some notes of Nostradamus' and was painting the 'Meeting of the FG' 400 years before it actually occurred!

We had the skirmish between knights as everyone galloped around Trafalgar Square losing and finding each other, we had the clutch of figures waiting for OM to return from the Loo (short for Louvre, I'm sure!) we even had the elephant!!! Only thing was, twas rain not blood that was splashed all across our picture!

Isn't that amazing? They say Leonardo foresaw great events, you know? And this just proves it! Wow! ;) :D

It really was great to see, wasn't it? And it explained it really well!

I wish we'd been able to see the rocket the time-traveller landed in. That would have been amazing!
