So, no. I don't like the Depeche Mode version. Nor the Marilyn Manson.
The one I really did go for is on by Richard Cheese, and I played several clips from other tracks too. He's good. Not just his voice, but his Jazz sense as well. I'd buy a ticket to see him, any day.
The Johnny Cash of course is whatever superlative you want to employ. It amazes me how angry he can sound without it being all you can hear.
