Hmm, seeing as I'm usually a bunny, I think that's a great idea!

But you I never imagine as an animal form, just a cute hunk!

Yes, they have sloth bears-that's why Baloo has the long claws on his paws.

anastrophe wrote: i will turn this car around RIGHT now if this doesn't end here, with this post - that is, my post, here, these words i'm typing right now.

this topic is for anything RANDOM. these recent discussions are anything BUT random. i'm getting extraordinarily tired of these interpersonal differences being aired in open threads. there may be some value in it; i tend to think not. meta-analysis, and meta-meta-analysis, rarely amounts to anything more than mental masturbation. except there's no payoff at the end.

we now return this topic to fiddle rump manifold, furry goblet limerick and ale, and little nell's puppies all go to heaven, zanzibar?

start a new topic for this other junk. please. even better - let's not, and say we did.

Dearest Anastrophe, you are SO right...and yet also wrong.

You're right that this is a random post and I'm afraid I did hijack it a little...although not to hold it to ransom! :o

I did wonder whether to start a new thread, but I didn't want to cause trouble or stir up problems, I just wanted to answer Acc's comments and so I thought I'd do it here. I felt things had calmed down enough to give my side of the story and show I'm not such a horrible person as people seem to think. I'm sorry it turned into such a long ramble, but I had many things I felt I needed to say.

So whilst you're right, this is the wrong place to say it, can I also please be allowed to have the last word on the subject and tie up any loose ends?

Thankyou dear Anastrophe. :o

(PS I don't know what "meta-analysis, and meta-meta-analysis" means, I'm afraid, and as to "mental masturbation" I don't know if girls can do that but actually it feels more like I've been wearing a hair shirt, rather than anything pleasurable). :(

I can assure you that my "nice" post had nothing to do with you. I had gotten an email from someone (himself English, by the way) that even had a passage from one of Jane Austin's novels when he tried to prove his claim that there are different meanings for the word in the US and the UK. I didn't believe him and thus the creation of the new thread.

As for Jives being a saint, I suggest anyone read back some of his posts.

And last but not least, I don't know who Bananarama is. And honestly, I changed my avatar before I even saw the comment about them.

Dear Snooze,

I like your banana av. I find it very a-peel-ing :wah:

I'm sorry for misunderstanding you. I think you have a wickedl sense of humour and often chuckle over the things you say. (well, write!) :o

It just seemed to me as though you had a hidden agenda and the niceness was intermingled with some hidden nastiness which I believed to be aimed at me.

I now realise the 'nice' post had nothing to do with me as I have had a very 'nice' kind and forgiving pm from the person involved. I hope you can understand why I felt it was a "coincidence" that something I mentioned in a pm was, a couple of hours later, ridiculed on the forum. I realise now it really was just a very unlucky coincidence. :-5

So, I'd like to apologise profusely to you and to the person who sent the pm. I made a big error of judgement and I'm very sorry for it!

Although it's not an excuse, I feel if I tell you a little about myself, it might help you understand. Last year I found I was pregnant with a baby that I'd wanted for a long time. Then I found I had diabetes. Then I found I had some cancerous cells. Then I lost the baby. If you are upset about something the adrenaline raises your sugar levels, so my blood sugar was all over the place. Very high blood sugar (I recently found out) can lead to depression. I have had several laser treatments to get rid of the bad cells, but more have appeared. I now have to have 2 ops, which I am very scared about.

I don't want to write this as an excuse or for anyone to feel sorry for me (please dont!) I just want to explain that I've been very down for a while because i lost my baby and because the high glucose levels add to my depression and because Im worried about the future. Its not an excuse as I know we all face trials daily, but I jumped to conclusions and got very upset because I came here to get away from the worries of daily life but instead I felt people were having a dig at me. I'd like you to understand why it felt like the last straw, because I felt I was being picked on by strangers on the internet, people who didnt even know me!

But, having read spots post I've had a moment of total clarity and realised I've been too oversensitive and taken things way too personally. I hope you can forgive me for what I said which I'll delete and I hope you can understand why I felt the way I did. I really am very sorry for jumping to conclusions and for casting aspersions on people willy-nilly.

(Your allowed to take the pi** out of the phrase "willy-nilly"!) ;)

With my very best wishes to you,

Mel.

Dear Spot,

thank you for your post which spelled everything out succinctly and clarified things I hadn't really been aware of.

I'm very glad you posted it as I can now see things in a totally different light and realise I have been seeing things wrongly when I thought it was other people who had the wrong impression.

I'm also very glad I met you as I do understand your sense of humour, whereas before I met you I wasn't always quite sure how to take you! Now I know its with a pinch of salt! :wah:

I'm sorry I've jumped to conclusions and apologise to anyone whom I've offended. I hope you can all forgive me and that we can be friends from now on. :0)

Spot, I think you're lovely but I'm going to have to shoot you for stirring up so much trouble! *evil grin*

You'd have made a good cauldron-stirring witch in a performance of Macbeth! ;)

Big hugs to you for sorting things out, :yh_hugs

Many thanks, Mel.
