I want to read things from you, like: "Hello to all you lesser people.... as from July 1st, (which is MY month) ... I'm no longer doing push-ups...I've started to push the earth down" ....and stuff like that. If you have any spare, mantra's that work, perhaps offer them to us, the FG needy, who will be hoping to share in your magnificence.
.......I've also been informed by a few of the girls , that a semi-clad pic, or two, would be welcomed, and a careful reminder it's for the ladies.......... I was never confused.
I was hoping to have firm news to post in the other thread before ya'll got impatient, but here's how my turn is going.
As most of you know, with the exception of my work with the Katrina evacuees and my current temp job ($8 per hour
), I have not been gainfully employed since April '05. Part of the reason is that I've been too picky. I truly want to be a leadership development trainer - not a lot of call for those. But I have persevered nevertheless.
Lately, I've been getting frustrated (duh!) and my resolve & self-confidence have suffered. I need to accomplish something, looking back on past accomplishments only helps so much, y'know?
I started applying to every position I even vaguely qualified for with no luck. Most didn't interview me, but even those that did, passed. I joined a career transition workshop that has a 12-week program to help write a killer resume, polish interview & negotiation skills, network, you name it. I'm in week 18.
I firmly believe that attitude colors everything - poise, facial expression, persuasiveness, even posture - and I have decided that my attitude is suffering. I sat down with the one person that truly understands my situation, and I asked myself :yh_wink what I really want to do. Then it hit me.
I've been focusing on what I want to be, not do. I produce endorphins by the pound whenever I can help another person succeed. I doesn't have to be leadership, it could be anything. And I can do that in any job, so long as it involves people. Epiphany! I instantly felt an explosion of hope; that's the best way I can describe it.
So, as part of my new start, I determined to make June my month.
The next two interviews have had positive starts, and I should get results today. One job is a management positiona small moving company. The owner has been out of town, but I apparently wowed his number two that they've started my background check even before interviewing with him. That's practically a job offer.
The other is a management trainee job with a furniture retailer whose culture is all about relationship-building, with customers and with employees. Their turnover rate among management is literally zero. No manager has ever quit, only retired. The hiring manager was suitably impressed with my interview that they gave me a battery of personality tests. I find out today if I scored well enough to proceed.
So there it is. Two job possibilities because I changed my attitude. Thanks for your interest. I'll keep you posted.

I went to a nude beach years ago in Provincetown, MA with my first husband.
I have to say that the sun felt really good and the water felt spectacular with *nothing* in the way.
My hubby and I have a built-in pool and hot tub in our back yard.
There's nothing better than getting into the tub nude with the night sky above you. The only illumination is from the stars up above.

Acc, all the luck your way for one or both of those jobs to land in your lap!!
You know, I used to have a hat just like that but it disappeared. . . . hmmmm.
Hot tubs rock, but I learned a valuable lesson, when the jets are on-other people in your neighborhood can hear you better than you can hear each other!

Updates!
I haven't heard from the moving company that started the background check. I'm calling them today.
I have a second face-to-face interview with the furniture company Tuesday. I spoke to a man currently in their training program. It's definitely a culture I can embrace. Everything is done with a long-term view and familial attitude. Top of my list!
Toyota is opening a Tundra plant here pretty soon. Their suppliers are holding a career fair today. I'll let you know if anything comes of my visit there.
Yesterday afternoon a transportation company called me for an interview Monday afternoon.
And through all this, the guy I'm temping with is nothing but flexibility and encouragement. I'd have cut me loose long ago, if I were he.
Did I tell you this is my month? :-6

I'm sending lots of hugs, Accountable. Sounds like you're doing great. And this is your MONTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!! All that talk of splashing in a hot tub got my attention. The ice is an inch thick on the grass in wintry Oz now.. Don't think I've met our party host yet... hi Cher!!! A lady never gatecrashes (pam tries to look ladylike) So I'll just stand hopefully, close by the sound of bubbling merriment, clutching my thong monokini and a very large bottle of vodka................

How disappointing Pam. I don’t guess we get to see you in your bikini until spring?
You could PM the picture from last year. Hot tubs rock, but we need ice in ours here in South Texas.

I got a job offer!!
Geez, I just checked & didn't tell you about the biotech company. They make test kits for all types of medical tests (hemoglobin, etc.) I interviewed with them for warehouse manager yesterday, and they extended the offer today! $$$
The lead came through a temp-to-perm recruiter. The company wants me to start Monday, but I begged off another week so I can see if the furniture company makes an offer.
When I told my temp boss, he told me I can have a permanent job with him if everything falls apart.
:yh_dance *dancing 3 inches off the floor* :yh_dance
