A dessert to die for...

Post by Marie5656 »

This recipe came from my mom. It became a staple on EVERY holiday table. A good thing is that kids can help make it, easily. Also, Low/Fat and Sugar free ingredients can be substituted . Also, I use all "regular" sizes of the products, but you can increase the sizes to make more.

Best to plan to prepare this the day before you are planning to serve it, as it needs setting time.

PRINCESS PUDDING

2 boxes strawberry flavored JELL-O brand geletin

1 reg sized package Cool Whip topping

1 package frozen strawberries (can substitute fresh in season) thawed

1 angel food cake..broken into bits.

First, prepare ONE package of JELL-O per package directions. Pour liquid into a retangular pan, or cake pan and chill till set. Then cut into aprox. 1 inch square cubes.

When JELLO is ready, mix all other ingredients together into a mixing bowl.

When this part is done, premare the *second* package of JELL-O per package directions..but DO NOT SET.

Pour the liquid directly into the mixture of other ingredients. and combine.

When this is done, fold the mixture into a rectangular cake pan and let set for several hours.

Thats it. It tastes great. My mom has been gone from us since 1980, and the family still considers it "Mom's desert"
