Post by cherandbuster »

Hello One and All!

Since I do like to talk about myself (or anything else, mind you;) ), here's the place to ask Cher all about her deep, dark self.

If you are not interested, I do not blame you at all:thinking:

However, if you are, ask away!:)

*Hopes everyone doesn't totally ignore this thread as my feelings may be hurt*

*sidebar* -- I just updated my bio a little. Thanx for the suggestion, Chonsi Baby!

I am a *true* warm weather lover! Hate snow. Slipped and fell on ice 10 years ago and ruptured a disk in my back, leading to my 3rd back surgery.

Warmth and sunshine are two of my favorite things:)

I'm ready for the next question.

Step up and ask it!;)

Three back surgeries..ouch. Hope you are OK now. Are you able to walk OK?

A twin? That is nice. I have several sets of twins in my family..all in my generation of cousins. Actually, it was several of my cousins who have had twins. Which means, the odds were good that if I had children I may have had them too! Must have been something in the water.

Excellent question, Arnie Baby:)

I'm really not the explosive type. If anything is bothering me, you'll know it way before I would ever get to the 'blow my top' stage.

I just think that stormy weather is exciting, passionate, unpredictable . . .

Yeah, I guess my avatar is a lot like me:D

I am able to do just about everything I could do before, it just hurts a little more.

I'm on medication every day for the discomfort. It helps ease the pain. But you'd never know I had the surgeries by looking at me.

My sister Susie and I are very close. We talk at least once every day. We live about 20 minutes from each other. Our husbands get along great.

The one downside? Everyone (everyone!) has always compared the two of us. I'm more insecure than my sis, so I struggle with the comparisons more than she does.

No we haven't:) but it does look very interesting, doesn't it?

Susie and I are 'mirror twins' -- that is, I am right-handed and she is left-handed.

We look a lot alike but I am about 15 pounds heavier than she is.*

---------------------------------

* another area of insecurity for me:(

Why thank you so much!

I'm a little more outgoing and more 'inward thinking' than my sister is. Unfortunately, this can make for higher highs and lower lows.

Part of my insecurity stems from having struggled with more things in life: divorce, miscarriage, major teeth problems, major back problems, weight issues, being laid off from four jobs (I worked in the high-tech industry in the 80s and 90s, and these companies were notorious for merging and folding).

I do believe, however, that these struggles make me a more compassionate person. Susie is more black and white in her thinking, whereas I truly understand the 'grayness' of life.

I hope someone (or two!) finds this interesting. It's kind of like writing a journal but with a question-and-answer format.

Wh'os next to step up to the plate?:)

Considering I batted over .400 in high school, I will step up to the plate.

What is your favorite food, why do you enjoy it so much, and if applicable, what do you associate with the food every time you or anyone else prepares it?

Well, K, my fav food is sushi. I love the clean taste and beautiful color of the fresh raw fish.

I've been making it at home for years. I find that the process of creating it is relaxing and quite enjoyable. And the finished product is so aesthetically pleasing to me!

BTW, my hubby won't go near it!

Hi Niamh, and thank you for your question! And your sympathy, which is always appreciated:)

We have great parties up here, but tea is very rarely the center of it:sneaky:

May I enlighten anyone else about me? :)

Do you have memories from a young love? Maybe he was to young, maybe you were as well. Do you sometimes think of him and smile? You must question if he thinks of you in the same way. More mature now, he knows he should have been more loving, kinder and more companionate. He doesn’t remember what your greatest fears and ambitions were, and he regrets that he doesn’t remember the sweet details of your love.

Oh jb, I like the way you ask questions:) You have such a nice way with words.

Alas, I have not been in love many times in my life. I have loved other men, but very rarely been in love with them. In fact, I realize that I was never in love with my first husband. It was a mistake to marry him.

My current (and last!) husband . . . now he makes my heart sing. The fears, ambitions, hopes, dreams . . . he knows it all. And still loves me:)

I am looking forward to growing old with him.

Maybe this has been asked before and I missed it, but the thread is titled "Questions for Cher" and your screenname is cherandbuster. Who is Buster?

(Sorry if this has been asked already!)

If you could have any pet in the world, what would it be?

You get to travel back in time and meet your 5-year old self. What do you tell her?

Hi BR,

Buster is my little chihuahua that I love madly:-4 He is my favorite companion and I love him to pieces!:)

And to answer your pet question, just re-read what I wrote above.

As for meeting my 5-year-old self (great question, by the way!): I would tell Cher to *always* have faith in herself. Believe in yourself. Be secure in the knowledge that you are a good, kind, loving human being and deserve all the good things that come your way. Celebrate life! And celebrate yourself!

Wow, acc, that's a good, thought-provoking question.

I believe human beings were put on this earth for a reason. And I believe that we should leave this world having made it a better place for all who follow.

The world is so much bigger than what is inside our own heads. We are just a very small piece in the puzzle of life.
