Betty Boop and Minks may have seen you first, Arnold (hi Girls!!) but I've seen you now!!! Burning ears, slender fingers, fast feet !!! What more could a girl want.. pant pant pant.

And Theia, my psyche had almost mended!! I'd actually learnt forgiveness. But - now you've thrown the T word in my face like that. AGAIN.. ( I know I mentioned it first but hey.. I didn't rub my own nose in it!!!) A plate of Betty's spag bol might heal the wounds while I bring the single blonde neuron to focus once again on this knotty, er knitty cardy problem....

G'day minks!! Great to see you!! I read avidly about the awesome adventures you had in London and loved your pink hat!! Grin. I'm afraid I'm a really hopeless knitter, failed it in primary school, along with sewing. Nobody had ever flunked sewing before.. sigh.

Oh I failed sewing as well, my mother an avid and excellent sewer would run into the sewing room and threaten to put me up for adoption if I didn't leave her sewing machine alone.

Oh glad you enjoyed my UK adventures, it was a trip of a lifetime. Great to have met so many cool people at one time. Most memorable. I hope others get the chance to do the same some day too.

Nearly adopted out. Mammas sewing machine was a sacred thing.

I did wave to you all, Minks from a rowboat on the Serpentine - had to leave the next day, and that little row was my one bit of free time there.. grin..

And I agree with Theia. What cardigan?

The other day upon the stair

I met a man who wasn't there

He wore a cardy there today

And now they both have gone away

I am a hopeless bridge player, and was once partnered with a very fine bridge player. And this story is true. But it goes back to the time when I was writing speeches and all that jazz, keeping parliamentary hours, before kids.

The Prime Minister's staff and advisers had a night off and were socialising. My partner and I were the junior ring-ins in that august crowd. And it was duplicate bridge. I really mean I'm pretty hopeless .. I don't understand the finer points of the game.. and I forget who's doing what to whom, when. Anyway people bid and I bid something pretty silly and got kicked under the table. So I upped the bit and got really kicked. Other tables started sniggering politely. And the opposition doubled my stupidity. So I got bloodyminded and redoubled. Then got all confused and led with the wrong card. Things got surreal from there so I started playing in random mode. It confused the oppostion. And the contract got made!!! All those points scored!!!! Everyone thought it was deliberate and I got loads of respect and increased street cred. I've never played duplicate since. Reckon ya quit while yer ahead.

Guilt. Go right for the jugular. Find something you can use and guilt her. Either that or blackmail. Shouldnt be hard to find something you could threaten her with. The choices are limitless Im sure. :D

First time I played bridge was 01:00 New Year's Day after a fine celebration.

Arrived home to find brother and two of his friends missing a fourth for Bridge - and I was it.

By 04:00 I was beginning to get the idea (a bit) but I didn't half get some rough words about my lousy play.

Ho hum - it's one way to sober up quickly :wah:

Fun night!

I could knit you a cardigan Theia although I may need some help to cast-off at the cuffs and change to No.9 needles. If I use extra long needles which I can hold under my armpits, I will get a much firmer tension.

Any other colour if I can't lay my hands on some brown wool Theia?
