when you come home is it forgotten for the day or do you find yourself doing bits & pieces on the computer or thinking of new ideas ect?
i'd really like to say i just forget about it but seeing as there only is 3 of us in my salon i suppose we maybe put in that bit more effort to make our service better, not to grow as we like it how it is, just improve

I'm pretty good with the "light switch" -- flipping it off when I leave work and enjoying my down time.
My husband, however, is not as good at it. He is self-employed -- I think that's why the light switch is harder to flip for him.
I do my best to help him over to 'the other side' -- it's good for his mental health :-6

The very instant I clock out and walk out of that bar, I forget about it entirely till I'm punching in the next shift.

I'm a designer and my work radar is never off. On big projects I often wake around 4a.m. (even earlier on the last one) and start designing in my head. You never switch off then until you fall asleep usually just before the alarm goes off of course.
Another weird thing is that I often realise design oversights where things won't work while I'm in the shower in the morning. Many times I've "seen" something that I was unable to do in the workplace where sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees.
I've even phoned work from holiday abroad when out of the blue I've realised something may foul when it's assembled. Like I said, it's NEVER off.
Sometimes I envy the Lollipop man (but not the one on the M6)

That's not so weird, Uncle Kram!
I myself often have 'work revelations' in the shower. Isn't it funny how that happens?

I find my most creative writing etc ideas come when I'm walking or as you say, in the shower. Maybe lots of stuff is getting processed in our subconsious and when we are relaxed and the busy front of our brains are switched off, lots of things suddenly get a chance to leap forth, so to speak. Grin. Stuff which gets drowned in the noise of the normal working day. Middle of the night sometimes too.

I feel unusually left out.
Oh, and here is the on topic part of my post: No, I usually leave work at work..and home at home.

Brian, the biker took me for a spin, Marie and it was totally exhilirating. I liken it to my first helicopter ride and the first time I plummeted - by accident - down a double black diamond ski slope. In other words, afterwards, when I'd got on the outside of a couple of purely medicinal gin and tonics and had stopped shaking, I though wow.. awesome. Quit while you're ahead. That doesn't apply to the ski slopes of course!! Black diamonds are now a girl's best friend (ski season now in Australia!!).

sometimes my job can be stressful, so i occasionally i take my home work with me, if theres an incident and your the last one holding the fort and left to deal with it , then you dont get the opportunity to off -load before you go home..

Gotta say that I find it quite difficult to switch off from work most of the time. Thoughts of work seem to pop in to my head most of the time, I think it's because I do irregular shifts.

Are you the owner?
Do you have to work on Saturdays?
Do you have a funky cool hairstyle?
(sorry for all the questions; my husband calls me "The Interrogator"):)

Oh I love your picture! You're very striking!:-4
My hair is very similar, dark and curly, a little bit longer than yours.
I find that gel gives it more control and shape.

It is a nice pic! Oh, I hate having my picture taken, I always have since a child. I will have to have a nice one taken soon, it makes me antsy to think of it. (I have to have a nice pic to turn in with my book rewrite, why would they want to see me in the first place?) I feel almost like going to those glamour photographers, and send one in that doesn't look like my usual self! I think I will take my daughter with me for my security blanket.......................
