While I dont want to rub salt into the English fans' wounds, those penalty kicks were dreadful. Sorry to see you guys exit the Cup in such a fashion, but its over now, nothing anyone can do about it.

I heard that in the town centre about a mile away, the riot police were out as shop windows were smashed. What a bunch of brain donors. I'm gutted about Englands exit from the tournament, but do you know what?

Well it's the end of an era as David Beckam has stood down as captain, and Ericsonn's moving on anyway. It's 2 years to the european cup with the qualifying soon. Lets hope Steve Maclaran does something more creative with the resources he's got.

It HAS to be Gerrard to Captain England now. Some pundits are suggesting Beckham won't figure in McClarens plans, but surely he still has something to offer
