Hiya Liz!

I saw "Match Point" last week and really liked it. It's a Woody Allen movie and takes place in England. Not a comedy, but rather a drama and murder mystery.

Well, with the upcoming release of "Pirates of the Carribean II " on Friday - if you don't own the first one, you might want to rent it to get "in the mood".

Well dont get Hostel, it really blows. As resident movie critic, taking into consideration the new addition to your family and your lovey dovey mood, I recommend The Five People You Meet In Heaven and Grand Canyon. Both are introspective and very feel good films with heavy emphasis on "humanity"

Next time you get to blockbuster.. or whatever it is that they have in Scotland that rents a lot of dvds...

check out a movie called "October Sky."

The true story of Homer Hickam, a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch to take up rocketry against his father's wishes.

On the surface.. it doesn't sound like a very interesting movie.. but it really is an inspirational tale..

I recommend it.

I will join Team Nomad, and agree that Hostel was not a great movie..not even an OK movie.

Recent movies we have liked include An Unfinished Life....Robert Redford and Jennifer Lopez. It tanked at the Box Office, but is a good movie in its own quiet way.

The latest King Kong was pretty good, also. Special effects were great.

Just the other day we saw a TV movie..gad, I forget if it was on TNT or A & E. Anyway, it was called Half Light, and it starred Demi Moore. If it is repeated, check it out, or wait to see if it comes out. I loved it.

Zathura's good, I really enjoyed it!

It's a follow up to Jumanji so I thought it might be 'Jumanji in Space' but although there are similarities, it's actually much better than you would expect, imo.

I liked October Sky, too. Jake Gyllenhaal is always worth watching! :D

Here in the states it is called "Hotel Rwanda". My sis-in-law found it most moving and powerful. It had its share of award nominations as well.
