Untrue!

Once you break the ice, it will come easily.

Geez, we love you Floppy . . . surely at least a couple of bowlers will feel the same way:)

ok mz negativity, make it horrible before it .. is.... just go and laugh, it will be a hoot. People won't eat you. They are all in it for the bowling. hehehehehe

You just have to remember if you can laugh at yourself you will have fun.

Hey tip number 2, if they issue a bowling shirt... sew sequins on it, you will look right smart out there on the lanes :D

I have one vanity..my nails. How long do you suppose those critters are gonna last? I garden without gloves and never break them.. I tear apart computers and printers every day and never break one... I'm guessing 3 balls tops and one of my nails goes down the alley with the ball! I'm gonna end up with having to buy those fake nails everyone wears... can makeup be far behind?? Next thing you know i'll be using a hairbrush instead of my fingers to 'do' my hair after a shower....:p

buck up sweetie you never know you may find yourself to be an eloquent bowler with lovely fluffy style and the nails will do just fine.... besides if your nails are too long to fit in those finger holes you may want to reconsider your choice of recreational sports.

I'm making changes, opening myself up to folks and not just assuming they are morons and wouldn't care for me anyways
Are you telling us that you are shy? What's not to love? You'll be fine and you'll have something to talk about with strangers--bowling!

That's easy Flop, just find a ball "without" holes! :p

As far as talking to strangers, after your first Strike, or Gutter ball, which ever occurs first, that will be the Ice Breaker that will get the conversations rolling (excuse the pun) along! :)

Lots of support here, Flopstock! I like the sequin suggestion, especially. Just remember that everyone there has been a beginner, too, and they'll all have suggestions.

Knock the FIRE out of those pins!

Good hint, actually! It means to extend your hand (the one with the ball, actually) and reach out! (But don't ''touch someone.")

You'll have fun! The nails might not be a problem...get friendly with other women bowlers and ask how THEY manage things!

You're right about that handicap thing. You help their scores.

BUT...did you have fun? If those scores were in order...you made a great improvement over the evening! Who knows? You might be top next week!

Ok--let's talk about the important stuff....did you break a nail? :wah:
