Baby Announcement!

I'm not sure this is the place to announce it...but our zoo has two baby BABIRUSAS! And we are just TICKLED!

Beautiful babies? Well, ummmm,----no!

Interesting? Well, yes! Not yet "endangered," but "vulneralbe."

These are certainly the first babirusa babies we've had in the 14 years I've been associated with the zoo.

We have two snow leopard cubs, too!

That is great they are having babies.

That's SO fabulous Lulu! It's always really great to hear when babies are born, particularly when its to an endangered or vulnerable species!

And snow leopards too! How wonderful!

They do, indeed, Zappster! The males impress and intimidate one another by waving their tusks around, having mock battles and pawing the ground.

(Sound familiar?)

The females are impressed, too, obviously!
