have you any false add ons?

eg: eyelashes, nails

i bought eyelashes about two years ago & was about to try them on today to see how they looked when i dropped the first one & i cant find it anywhere, pesky lil things, anyway i just had a go at the second one & found it incredibly difficult to put on, once finally in place i thought it looked stunning but cant help blinking & being self concious of it which in turn is making my eye water, very sexy :yh_giggle

if you have nail extensions i cant see how it would be possible to apply these things without hurting yourself, totally impractical for me to have nail extensions being in my trade but i would like them

now if i perfect this eyelash thing, how strong are they? dont want one coming off as i bat my eyes at my guy :yh_battin

I think fake things are comfort for people who are unhappy with what nature gave them. That is why there is such a market for things like hair extensions, different color contact lenses and whatever.

Maybe for a special occasion, where you really want to look great...but not for every day use.

I wear false eyelashes a lot because I suffer from alopecia.

I also have acrylic nails.

The alopecia (unexplained hair loss) only affects me in the eyelash and eyebrow area. The rest of my body is pretty unhairy (which I like!), but no bald spots anywhere. And luckily the hair on my head has not been affected.

BCup, The VERY BEST false eyelashes I have ever used are by Revlon. They are called Fantasy Length, and the great thing about them is they are self-stick -- no glue necessary. They come in strips (and the strip is black, so you don't need any eyeliner either). They are reusable as well. I just apply mascara to my lower lashes.

If you can't find them where you are, I'd be *most* happy to send you a few sets.

I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks. The beauty of the acrylic surface is that nail polish adheres to it much better than it does to natural nails. Seriously, I NEVER have any chips at all and basically do nothing to them in between appointments.

really marie?, i admire women who like to look good, who have the time to have hair, make up, nails ect done on a regular basis, i see it as enhancing what nature gave them

surgery is different, fake breasts look awful

cher we do get revlon products here so i will have a look for the fantasy length & if i cant find them may take you up on that offer, im trying eyelure strip lashes which adds volume to thin lashes, they look fantastic, really big difference, there does seem to be an art to applying them tho, it took me several attempts to get it right

You're right, BCup, it really is an art! :)

Here's an application method that works well for me: Firstly, pick up the strip and repeatedly bend it in an arc-like position. If it is somewhat curved before you apply it, it mimics the shape of the lashline and therefore will make the application easier.

Pick up the lash strip (at the center of strip) with a flat or slanted-tipped tweezer (the pointy ones won't allow you to 'grip' a section of the strip).

Then 'guide' the already-glued lash strip toward your eyelid. The tough part for me is getting it *just close* enough to the lash line. If you place the center of the lash strip first, you'll have more control in attaching both of the ends.

I use a wooden toothpick to push the strip onto the lid & press down the corners; I find that glue (or even the adhesive with the Fantasy Length) sticks to the wood less than other surfaces.

And that is your lesson for today! ;)

Maybe it is because I have never had the desire to wear the fake stuff. I am not putting down those who choose to do so. Closest I come to jewelry is my wedding ring. Used towear pearced earrings..but it has been so long, they have closed up.

Does my Groucho Marx nose/glasses set count as "false things?" I find I never have to worry about what ELSE I'm wearing.....:D

I get my nails done once a month right along with a pedicure love every minute of it. My nails are very thin and don't hold up well so I have acrylic nails they make my hand look so much better. :-6

The place I have my nails done at has now started a service that applies semi permanent eyelashes they last for months. I don't need them my eyelashed are very long. But I have seen women there who have had them done and they look perfectly real and its not all that expensive.

About 10 years ago I have my eyebrows and lips tattoed very natural looking and boy does it set you free. Actually its time to have it done again..:D

That's interesting, Carla....I thought it was permanent! You mean you need to "refresh" it? Or is it completely gone?

Comments from Cher:

1) BCup, even though my description of applying the strip eyelashes sounds complicated, I can do both of my eyes in under 30 seconds total. Faster than applying mascara and cleaning up the smudges!

2) Carla, my sis had those individual lashes done before her son's bar mitzvah. They looked fabulous, but . . . if you rub your eyes, wash your face vigorously, or don't sleep 'carefully enough', they will fall off. And, often taking the real lashes with them (because they are glued to your real individual lashes).

3) Tatooed lip and eye liner has been around for awhile now. It is called permanent, and I believe only needs to be touched up when it fades, but that takes many years' time.

Your right Lulu2 it is permanent just time for my touch up. Not its not painful at all if you go to a professional to have it done you lips puff up a bit but that is a good thing.. :D It is really nice to have color on your lips all the time instead of having to put lipstick on 15 times a day... just a little gloss over the color good to go..

For everyday use I think it depends on what ethnicity, and geographic location you are. African women wear fake hair all the time and that is normal...but not as normal for Caucasian women. maybe normal is not the right word...but hopefully you see my point. it seems some fake items are more accepted than others. Fake nails are very common but not fake eyelashes. It might also depend on the environment people live in. To anwser the question I have done fake nails and boobs, and I am not opposed to trying fake lashes or etc. for a fun event or something.

I'm just so very low maintenance and lazy that I never got into any of that! :D

All my nails are short and naked, my hair I just let it dry naturally and do it's own thing, my ears were pierced at 2 months old but I'm not into jewellery at all so the holes have closed up. I don't like dessing up or wearing shoes either.

I told you all I was a tomboy! :D

Not the plastic surgery kind the ones you buy and can put inside of your bra. They feel natural and if a man touches them outside your clothes will not know the difference. But I have not worn those in a long time, i use to wear them for everyday use. Now I will wear them if I want to look a little more busty. They can be a little hot.

Oh!

I have a pair of those, too

They look kinda like raw chicken breasts, right?

I just wear a padded bra now and call it a day!

My hubby calls my padded bra "false advertising"! :D

Does a padded Bra count??

When I got married I had false nails they were challenging. Never again.
