Hmm think I caught picture of an orb...

Post by Sheryl »

This is an old cellar located by the old Palo Duro Schoolhouse. I was out there a few years ago taking photos and I caught this strange orb thing in my first shot. The second shot shows nothing. I just found it strange and thought I'd share.

So tell me what do you think?

I'm gonna post these in two different posts, so not screw up home page of FG.

Here's first one

I think the pic is awesome but not seeing an orb but a kind of swoozh in the pic is that what you mean? I do love the uniqueness of the pic mind you.

Sher post the pics side by side, upon my 3rd look, I see in pic number 2 there is a lighter patch where Susie is indicating and in pic 1 it seems brighter, so not too sure what we are seeing.

oiy sorry to be a bit of a downer I am a crazy photo nut remember and part of my hobby is really analyzing pics, but if you look close at both pics the light roundish patch is in both, but the swoosh in the blackness is not, and that swoosh kind of makes the lighter patch stand out more, not sure if that is a play of light on that patch of the cement or your orb is in both pics.... I dunno what to tell ya.

*sigh*

I even put on my good glasses, I don't see it. Can I make a request? Make a copy of the photo, the go into paint or something and draw an arrow pointing to it. It is an orb, like a glowing object, or circular object? All I see is a circular crack in the concrete, with a line in it.

I hate to be a sceptic but all I can see is two beams of light reflecting off of the disturbed dust against the dark background of the celler.

Seeing them side by side , I noticed that the concrete was much lower on the right-hand picture. Is this any help Sheryl? :yh_giggle

Back to topic.

Well i don't see something special, but whenever you do take a photograph where the sun is not in your back, or your near facing the sun, all kind of effects can apear on photo's mainly because of sunlight going trough a different lens path. such nice shapes you can easily make on photo's just by focusing in near sun direction. these are reflections of the internal lens(-es)

There are expensive lenses and lens designs with anti reflection coatings who have been created to overcome such effects. a simple tube to keep your lens in shadow also improves, and at some lenses you can extend a sun tube cap.

But when one uses a cheap camera or a cheap lens, or is creaing a photo with the sun ahead, then be aware that your lens can create unwanted optic effects.

(oh and i have various lenses about eight and have had many camera's from AEx-1 till my current EOS350D )
