Waiters and Waitresses tell all....

Another site I found last night. It really makes you think bout how you act and/or how you make your kids act in restraunts. But overall many of the stories are quiet funny on how these folks dealt with rude customers and such.

I loved it, Sheryl. Too bad that some of the "morons" they speak of would not see themselves in the descriptions. I am reminded of the thing that says "A person who is nice to you, but rude to the food servers, is not a nice person". Of course, I would make that a fill in the blank of rude to " I have worked in a variety of customer service positions, and had brushes with morons every day.

I have a customer who will have a full glass of beer. The minute he empties the bottle, he will say, "Hey! Get me a beer!" Well, one really busy day, he whistled and then yelled it. Whistling for me is the wrong thing to do. I turned around and in front of all the customers said, "Do not ever whistle for me again. You whistle for a dog, not a bartender or waitress. " The man apologized profusely. He didn't realize how rude he sounded. I am now one of his favorite bartenders. Ask rudely, you are the last one to get served. Ask nicely, and you get immediate service.

Peg, that is one of my biggest peeves, too. And when it happens, I tell them exactly the same thing you do. Usually it doesn't have the same affect as what happened with you, though.

I just stand at the bar with money in my hand when I want to be served. Once I was told that it was rude to have money in your hand while you are waiting as it looks like your being impatient . I always thought of it as just a way to show you want to buy a drink.

I will ask them their first name and use it in conversations with them
