These goddamn flies!
SnoozeControl wrote: They're the size of gnats and they're all over my freaking apartment. What are they are and where did they come from?!? I've bleached the sh*t (literally and figuratively) outta my toilet, yet they're still here. I'm starting to look like a person with DTs, swatting blindly to hit these little bastards in midair.
Make it stop!
Are they those annoying little fruit flies? And why are they called fruit flies? I think it's just the time of year for them.:-2
Sorry I'm not much help! :wah:

If you have any potted plants, poke around the dirt and see if any gnats fly out. I had that problem once. They're called mildew gnats or something. Damned annoying is what I nicknamed 'em.
These goddamn flies!
Quite likely they're drosophila melanogaster.

OOOOOOOOOOooooooooohh Lucky you. Just a few gnats.
Annabell and myself have just had to rid our kitchen of a nest of ants.
And around this time of year, especially with the heat. They have been growing wings. I found the nest on top of the combi boiler. However a good suck with the vacuum cleaner sorted that out. Plenty of spraying around with an ant killing aerosol, dispatched the rest. Now all we need to do is clean up all the corpses.
Ant jam anyone?:)

Kathy Ellen wrote: Sometimes those gnats and flies go after shampoos. Whenever I go to the hair dresser the gnats are always around the Kiwi shampoos. Try putting away sweet smelling things in your bathroom. They're called fruit flies because they actually come from the fruit. Just like figs have eggs of bees in them, fruit has eggs of flies in them. I used to love figs until I read about how they develop.
Good Luck, Kathy Ellen
Kathy - I just tried to PM you and you have this function turned off !!! Anyway sent you the email via yahoo to your hotmail.. Fergit all those narsty NJ bugs and head over to freezing Oz forthwith, Girlfriend, where there are - at the moment - no flies, no mozzies etc. Figs have bee eggs in them??????????????????????? Say it isn't so!!! I LOVE FIGS !!!!!!!!!!!! Hey and I love honey. Will take the figs, however.

Got the email. Thank you!!! And I've only just had a very quick scan of today's paper. Will have a proper look this evening. I - a Sydney surfie girl - was totally impressed by your own Atlantic waves. Scared the heck out of me on that early morning swim. Grin. Tammy did good. And bravely too, risking New York harbour... WOW !!! Gotta git my dupa to the coalface. Take care. And have a mojito for me. (I'm glad you were not one of the arrested ladies doing the strip on the Klees bar... we gotta do that one day... I can see the headlines "Coyote Beautiful").. :yh_rotfl
