When was your last car wreck

Post by LottomagicZ4941 »

I just had one the day before yesterday. This is the second one which was totally my fault. At least nothing was hurt except my car and driving record.

Should have called off sick but they are harassing me for all my call offs in January when I was injured (two days of call off) and sick (five days of call offs). Drove when I was to tired. Had a brain fart and drove off the road.

I've learned my lesson. The next time I only get 3.5 hours of sleep I'm calling off.

Glad to hear you came through unscathed.... whew

Last accident I had, about hmmm 14 years ago, was totalled by 2 teen girls pulling a speeding Left hand turn into my little ford escort. ouch. Car suffered more than moi.

Only had 2 others and worst was driving off an embankment. Ouch big time, buggered up the old back for about 6 years but made a nice recovery and won't be attempting that stunt again.

Other was another Left hand turn by a delivery truck into my Mustang. Was pregnant at the time, but we both survived minus a good brain rattling as I hit the window with my cranium.

Never had a car accident of any kind, i hope my luck remains. Actually i am a very careful driver, i wear a seat belt at all times & i do not drive while drinking...i think that is terrible. Although i see car wrecks in front of my home 3-4 times a year. There is a sharp curve that banks to the wrong side, the house sits on a hill and is protected. Accidents are costly, don't have too many!

Lotto you were lucky, glad you were not hurt! "They" don't pay you enough to kill yourself for them, so don't let them do it to you. Cause they will if you let them! :-5

Let's see....sitting at a railroad crossing in the spring of 2000. No train in sight, but the lights and bells are going off, so I'll stay put. However, the driver of the beer truck in the oncoming lane musta been behind schedule. He decided he couldn't wait on the train......gave the accelerator a good goose.......hit the tracks, lost control, and ended up in my lane....smack dab on the hood of my car!

Damn the bad luck.

My right leg's been rebuilt and I'm walking, but doubt I'll ever go dancing again.

On the bright side....the attorneys, surgeons, and insurance companies came out pretty well.....and I finally answered the age old question, "How much weight can a middle aged woman gain, when she's unable to utilize large muscle groups in the lower half of her body?" But we won't go there.

Dang, Karla! What an awful thing. I admire your humor and courage in spite of it all. :)

My last accident, my only accident. 1984. Suicide Circle in Des Plaines, IL. Girl rammed her car directly into me as I was driving. Smashed the door frame in so completely that it scratched my stomach. I had to crawl out the other door. The police and the girl did not help me - they were glaring, though I was not at fault. Once I emerged from the car and they could see I was 8 months pregnant...jaws dropped. Like I cared.

The baby was fine, though I still blame his more erratic behavior on that brain-scrambling accident. It's our little joke, LOL.

ummm.. odd part about it was that was the first time I wore a skullcap in a long time.. wasn't mandatory where I was.. heheheheh.. yep.. guess it was a good thing in this case.. when they peeled it off me they cut the lining down the center and split it like an egg..

you know it's almost bike week down here, and every year since helmets became optional the death toll rises. that is not the only factor of course, rice-burners doing 180 mph result in a lot of gray matter being scraped off the pavement, plus people don't know how to drive around bikes... the mayhem (and entertainment )begins March 1. ever been to the Daytona madness?

oh yes.. I have experienced the insanity of bike week more than once.. all in my younger less ummmmm... sane days. True on all counts. It is scary.. these deadly crotch rockets are soooo easy to get up to speed.. and without training and practice it is soo easy to loose it. Baggie time.. literally... And once you add cage drivers (elderly ones at that) that are not used to seeing bikes, I doesn't matter if the headlight is on.. or a freaking spotlight.. number one reason for bike/car accidents.. " I didn't see him"..

my dearest girl-buddy's 20 year old son was on a rice-burner, went through a STOP sign, hit a full-sized car, flipped it like a turtle! the woman driver died and so did my friend's son, both at the scene. :-1 how fast do you have to be going on a bike to flip a car?? most HOG riders are older, more affluent, more sensible, and aren't getting killed unless they're DUI.
