The Night the Lights went out in Georgia

Post by along-for-the-ride »

Last night we here had one of those mean electrical storms and the electricity went out for several hours. It was already dark, so my hubby and I grabbed a flashlight and lit a hurricane lamp and turned on a little battery-powered radio and listened to some oldies. A good mellow evening inside...thunder and lightening and heavy rain outside. We felt snug and cozy and safe, alone together.

What do you do when your power goes off in the evening?

PS. Yeah, we did THAT too.;)

Yup....THAT!

Did you ever hear about that famous blackout in New York City? Nine months later the maternity wards were overflowing!
My candle's burning at both ends, it will not last the night. But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--It gives a lovely light!--Edna St. Vincent Millay
