Our chips (your fries) are great big chunky things. These are about as big as an average 'middle' finger....they come straight cut or crinkle cut or steak cut which are huge. :)

The first CHiPs refers to an old TV show about the California Highway Patrol, it was called CHiPs and Eric Estrada and that really white guy was in it.

Well Irish people are not brits, but we are close enough I suppose, so what do we like about america.

1. It exists.

2. It was far easier to get potatos in America in the 1840s than it was here.

3. There are loads of us over there, god knows, I'm related to half of them, and the other half are related to me.

4. They actually let us run the place a couple of times, and OK it did nearly result in a nuclear war in 1962, but that was completely the Russians fault with that flippin dog in the sputnik freaking everyone out. We were just in it for more potatos. In fact I am sure that Kennedy was actually shot by other jealous Irish people who could see that he was keeping all the potatos for himself (take that Oliver Stone)

5. New York Citayyhhhh.

6. The fact that our Taoiseach (Prime Minister) always gets given a big bowl of shamrock on St Patricks Day off the president at a big fancy do in Washington, though a couple of potatos thrown in would be nice.

7. The invention of the Aeroplane, as that made it easier to find out where the best potatos were.

8. For letting us be the Police in America, its a steady job, and it made a nice change from being the criminals over here, though our criminal tendencies may have been what made us good at being the police in the first place.

There is lots more, but its not potato related and so I'm losing interest.;)

Oh the praties they grew small

Over there over there

Oh the praties they grew small

Over there

Oh the praties they grew small

And we ate them skin and all

From the spring unto the fall, over there

One of the saddest songs I know. One in three Aussies has Irish ancestry too.

Awww Clance

Thank you :p

Hubby is a big fan of bluegrass music -- he thinks the guitar playing is done at such a high level of intricacy. And it's real American music.

Many many things are great, but I particularly love your pride in your flag and your ability to fly it everywhere!

We are not allowed to fly our Union Flag in case it upsets all our illegal immigrants! :p

Where are the knee-down for the hell of it opportunities?

But they do have better roads than us.

LOL:wah:

My mum used to hate me having a bike, I used to have to take the knee sliders off my trousers and hide them - she used to look at them and have a go at me when she found new marks!!:-3:wah:
