Why is it....

...that you call in to report your phone and/or electricity being out and you get this wonderful voice recording that tells you for faster service you can log onto www.imusthaveamagiccomputer.com and report your problem online?

If my phone line is out....I can't get online. If my electricity is out...my computer won't even come on. Who is the idiot in charge of these voice message things anyway??

Just venting.

So what things do you guys find totally inane in this new world of voice instructions?

I can't stand those friggin "press 1 for this, press 2 for that etc..etc..."

Just give me a human on the other end of the phone!!!!!:-5

Call centers which are based in foreign countries , employing operators who's English accent is so bad that can't understand me, causing me to be on the phone for twice as long and costing twice as much!!

Or maybe that's all part of the plan ..... :mad:

You want to know what pisses me off ? When your in a public restroom and after washing your hands you grab a towel, what you get is either a little itty bitty corner ripped off, or you get 57 towels.

What does this have to do with this thread ? I have no idea !

Well atleast we know you wash your hands. :D

Anywhooo I hate the press 1 for this press 2 for that crap too. But then I usually get all the way through all the number pressing to hear a message like "The current hold time is 45 minutes", then some crappy music starts playing.

Hey G, I tried that link and it didn't work dammit. Must not have one.

Regards to the rest I broke a phone just last week dealing with Verizon who are the ABSOLUTE WORST at the unbearable voice menu. After you press the buttons you get to sit there feeling like a complete and utter jackass because you are actually talking to a ********* computer. Like I really need to be doing that all day. After about the 5th time of saying "PUT SOMEONE ON THE ******* PHONE!!!!" and it coming back with "I'm sorry, I did not understand your response." I threw the phone against my wall and called it a day.

I was told....and tried it out...that if you keep having to punch numbers just start punching the ############. This confuses the computer and your call will go thru to a real person...and it works most of the time.

Eventually they usually instruct you to dial 0 (lastly of course) try dialing 0 from the get go next time.

I've tried that. It usually tells me to press a number to repeat the list. :mad:
