good morning goodbye

Post by buttercup »

I'd like to thank so many of the wonderful people here for making my stay a pleasure, far to many to list but you know who you are anyway :D

If anyone's wondering why im going its been building up for some time, i feel its been impossible of late to offer my opinion without recieving a lot of negative energy directed at me, its hard to be an active member when that is the case. I'd like to think i have always offered positivity to the board & my contributions have been worthwhile & in some cases helpful to other members.

My inner bitch needs to make a comment - I expect snooze, pants & dg are writhing around in posion ivy pleasure now, you managed to get rid of another one, well congratulations

ok tombstone press the button :D bye everyone :-4

Well THAT was completely unneccessary.

She's gone, completely. I can't imagine that a member would leave for the sake of 3 people who happen to disagree with her. If it's only 3, then that must make considerably more who agree. There are a lot of us here. It's seems more like a snub to the members she says has made her time here pleasurable.

If you feel that way- so be it but for the record i think you should stay and sort out any problems you have ,but i do wonder why you would say what you have just said- what have i ever said to you in public or private to warrant you thinking i would want you to leave . I HAVE NEVER HAD A GRUDGE WITH YOU BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE WITH ME ... . when have i ever said to you anything about your opinion .Everyone here has something important to say whether i or you like it or not - at least have the decency to explain to me why you blame me .
Can go from 0 - to bitch in 3.0 seconds .:D

Butter, we've always gotten along so well, but since the MH drama, you've changed. Your fuse is too short.

Butter....you've named 3 people you have a problem with but I would urge you to take some time out and then COME BACK because there are many more (too many to name) that like your company and will miss you if you leave. :-4

Arnold, Buttercup is upset over comments posted to her on another thread, where she stuck up for six.

I would ask that you change your mind, and just avoid those threads that are upsetting. I had to do the same last night. Please do not make this a permanent exit from FG, because we all want you to stay and would miss you very much.

I am with Bez on this one, we would not like to see you go.

I'm sorry but these "I'm leaving" type drama threads tend to annoy me. Isn't this what people who post these want? Us to beg them to stay? I'm sure a lot of you will be upset with me for stating MY opinion. Look at the goodbye threads we've had here in the past. They always tend to stay.:wah:

BCup

I've always enjoyed your company

Now who will I cheer on in the "I Can Make You Thin" thread? :)

You've made my stay in the Garden quite lovely.

I'll miss you. :-6

Dont blame your leaving on me. You are a 40-ish year old woman. You are adult enough to make your own decisions. You stated your opinion, and I stated mine. After I didnt like what you had to say, I simply said I didnt care to converse with you anymore. Whats the problem? You cant put me on ignore too?

Jives and Snooze co-exist here and I havent seen any friction here lately. There are a few more that cant stand each other here but manage to either be cordial or avoid eachother.

But, for what its worth: Bye.

I know what you mean, Peg, but it seems now to be almost a forum tradition to tell everyone that you're leaving and why. And I think we're all great big softies at heart and want to know that people care about whether we're here or not.

Though personally, I think it unlikely (though not impossible) that I would ever write a leaving thread in case no-one asked me to stay! That would be a real downer :-5

But whatever, I'm sad to see Buttercup go and I hope she reconsiders.

Theia, when BC posted the thread, I checked her online status. Her name was there, but her location was absolutely blank. I don't think she's going to be reading the responses here. I've just checked and her name has gone too. That might just mean she's offline, but I don't somehow think so. I don't think she's looking for sympathy.

I think most of us do, Pinky. Or at least we'll tolerate each other's presence. We represent all aspects of humankind here. By being mature about it, we come to some sort of arrangement.

I've had arguments on here. But I still get on with those people.

Neither do I, OM. "Sympathy" is not what I meant, sorry. I was trying to say that it wouldn't be surprising if, deep down, we wanted people to ask us not to go. That seems somehow quite natural...

Apologies for hijacking this thread but...I went and bought one!!! No, I lie, I bought two! In Monsoon's sale last week. Betty was with me (well, not when I actually bought them because she would have consficated my credit card). And okay, the "brown" one is beige and it doesn't have any fringes but I'm happy! Sadly, Arnold and Uncle let me down badly, and I won't forget it in a hurry.

I will have to agree with Peg here. I went through that when I decided to step down as moderator at the animal forum. My main reasons were that my interests had travelled elsewhere and I no longer wanted to moderate a forum I was no longer interested in. As it turns out, I have rarely been back to post there. Lurked, yes..but maybe just one or two posts.

How very sad.... none of us can know the extent of a persons hurt when they feel this bad. BC I am saddened to see you go. No matter who anyone supports on here, they should never feel they have to leave. I am sorry you could not work this out. I will miss you :( I would like to hope you will just take a theraputic break and come back refreshed. If you can appreciate those who like and support you, use that as your stepping stone to come back in a short while.
