Bill Bryson's troublesome words is a mine of information on English usage and common problems. I used to work as an editor so this stuff drives me nuts, I don't know how many arguments we had about the use of "which" and "that". Anyway I'm out of that game now so I can revert back to wotever ennglish wot I likes and that, like whateva?.

I know I know, its such a common one, everyone uses it. Oh I don't get into these ones any more, they make the debates on the middle-east look like a spelling bee, which is the latest U.S. term I've picked up on and I think is a great idea, we shud hav theim hear becoz I hav hurd that a lot of us ovr ere cannt like speal proper and that, know warra mean? .
