(shyly introducing myself to a brand new board)

I was invited by a friend and I hope to make some more here. I don't do very much on the internet, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the garden has to offer.

I call myself Rain because I live where the forest meets the sea, and that's just about all it does here. Though it's beautiful, it's also depressing due to the almost constant grey skies and... and... Rain.

I have 2 beautiful grandkids that live much to far away, so I only see them once a year :( I'm kind of a lonely soul due to the fact that my husband works nights and I'm alone most of the time.

I enjoy making jewelry out of lampwork beads. I also enjoy gardening, and house remodeling. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat.

Rain, you have found the perfect place to take up some time! There are so many fun people here, and I know you will find some more friends. Some of the best pals I've got are right here on FG.

Hey, I'm alone most of the time, too, so maybe we can keep each other company in these wee morning hours.

Welcome to FG, I hope you love it as much as the rest of us do! :yh_peace

Thank you for the welcome. I don't know how to post a photo yet, but in time I'll learn.

It is beautiful here, but the rain is very depressing. Lately though like the rest of this nation, we've been in a wonderful heat wave. I say wonderful, because usually this time of year, the hot weather inland, drags in the fog cover and we're under completely grey skies. Depressing! You can't grow a decent garden, and you're bundled up at night trying to stay warm.

We're actually desert people, and we miss the dry heat and the beauty of the Southwest Very much. We see commercials on TV that show a desertscape and we act like ET. Point and say... "Home". lol.

The reason we're here in the northwest is due to my parents being elderly and needing help.

Greetings Rain, so which rainy place are you from (west coast canada comes to mind) ? Lampwork beads I know what those are they are gorgeous. I dabble in beadwork but nothing to major. I hope you enjoy your stay in the garden it's truly lovely.

I hope you enjoy your stay here

ACK! I'm sorry it took me so long to get here!

RAIN is one of the first people I met on the internet....many years ago! (We were toddlers at the time and we learned to spell together! :wah: )

She is creative, funny, kind-hearted and it's been my pleasure to meet her face-to-face several times. Oh, and her husband is one of those men you'd trust immediately. (They hold hands allll the time!) :-6

WELCOME, RAIN!

Rain

I just replied to your comment in the T. V. commercial thread :)

I've found it most easy to hit "Today's Posts" and go from there.

It will give you the most current topics in FG at the moment.

Good luck and feel free to PM me if you have any questions. :-6

Hey, Rain, nice to see you back! As for navigating FG, the easiest way I've found is to use the "Today's Posts" button at the top of every page. In the top green stripe, 3rd button in from the left, you'll find it. That will take you to the page where the most recent posts are, starting from the last one posted in. It's as up-to-the-minute as you can get.

Good luck, and if you have any trouble, ask just about anyone and they'll be more than happy to help out.

Hey, Lulu!! Keep your super friends coming on over!! :yh_bigsmi :yh_peace

Ahhhhh, My Topic, My replies. Excellent. Thanx :)

And, Today's posts. Does that mean ALL of the posts on the entire board? In all of the forums? Wow.

Also, after replying to someone, how do I get back to the "today's topics"? Do I just keep clicking on that? there's got to be an easier way

Yep, any thread that has been posted in. Once you read it, the title will appear in normal text. When it's still unread by you, the text of the title will appear in bold. It will also show, to the right, who the last person to post in that thread was.

No worries, Rain, I for one have no problems with the questions!

From the home page, you should be able to click on the title of any thread you see and get taken to that thread.
