From what I understand, Britain shouldnt feel like the tropics! But it does. How can somewhere so close to the north pole, feel like central america?

Funky things going on folks!

Seems the same is happening in Europe and in parts of the USA.... Global Warming ? or just the way the planet is evolving ?

It would be fantastic if we didn't have to go to work.

Oh dont I know it! The ward is absolutely stifling! I wonder if it is our ozone getting thin? Or maybe we are traveling closer to our sun?

Uk close to the north pole? :-3

What!

like Winnipeg, Canada. Same Latitude.

I take it Geography was not your strong subject at school.

The UK is also fed by the Gulf Stream, which emanates from the Gulf of Mexico. This carries warm currents to our tidal streams. The UK has always been washed by the gulf stream. The Gulf stream has lately moved a bit further north than usual. So it's better weather for us because of warmer seas. Trust me.;)

Ditch the sledge and break out the suntan oil...:)

Whenever I need to "get away,'' I just get away in my mind. I go to my imaginary spot, where the beach is perfect and the water is perfect and the weather is perfect. The only bad thing there are the flies. They're terrible!

Since you dont know me, I'll explain. ONCE. I was being facetious and sarcastic. My knowledge of geography is far better than you may assume. And being as I am from the U.S., I have some knowledge of the gulf stream and it's attributes. So save your 'gosh this bird must be stupid' innuendo for someone it actually applies to.
