When Do you Open gifts?

Post by valerie »

When I was little, we were allowed to open ONE present Christmas Eve,

and those were all from my Aunt (Mom's sis) who got us the most wonderful

things... she didn't have children of her own and we benefited.

Santa came at night, and none of our presents from Santa were wrapped.

We picked out a chair or spot on the couch that was "ours" and when we

got up in the morning, there they were! I eventually realized that my parents

could only barely afford the presents themselves, there was no extra money

for gift wrap, bows, or tags. Dad worked extra shifts and they did the best

they could.

My husband and I open Christmas morning, and we let the resident K-9

open HERS first!! :D

My son opens one present on Christmas Eve, which is always homemade flannel pajamas. He loves them, even now at age 20. (awwwww!)

The rest we open on Christmas morning.

Christmas morning. Bright and early. When I grew up and had children the mate said that her family opend one Christmas eve. Guess who lost out on that one?

One morning in the dark hours I heard Santa downstairs and, when I got there, the four year old was opening all the presents looking to see what she was going to get. Extra Wrapping duty that night. Told her that next year it has to be light out and that the others in the house would have to be woken up before anything started.
