6. A Berlin resident, Mark Voegel succumbed first to his pet black widow spider, then to the rest of his creepy zoo. Voegel, who kept a vast menagerie of snakes, lizards and insects, was fatally bitten by Bettina the black widow spider. Then his dead body became hearth, home and restaurant for his menagerie, as spiders took up residence in his corpse, thousands of termites nibbled away at his flesh and snakes and lizards ripped chunks of flesh from his bones. Neighbours alerted police after the smell from Voegel's house became too revolting to be normal, and police broke in to find his corpse on the sofa and his zoo living off him.
