Of course he is.
Tony Blair believes himself to be right.
Personally, I like that.
He reminds me of me.

No, I don't think so. He does not have undisputed influence or power or unlimited authority.
You may, however.

But he's trying very hard to achieve those powers and if the polls are
correct and the British people say:....yes!
What then?
He would then, of course, resemble me not at all.
Or any normal British citizen in history.
Regards,
shrike.

No way my friend----------Blair would have to be a dictator and you would have to do away with your Parliment. Some Monarchies of years past were autocratic as were a number of Dictatorships. Blair is not and never will be any more autocratic than George Bush, who lacks unlimited authority as well.

You don't think that Tony Blair has done away with Parliament, Lon?
Parliament remains in it's skin and bones but it's ignored.
It's members are ciphers.
Which is good.
If they weren't empty vessels Britain would never have supported the
Iraq war.
The best thing Britain's done in the last 50 years!
Tony Blair's a tyrant in all but name but he's a 'good' tyrant.

For 'tyrant' please read 'autocrat'.

We're not sure what Tony Blair is.......I'm not sure even Tony Blair knows.
Is he even human? Maybe an alien experiment gone amuck. Maybe he'll be the first 'eurocrat'.

Yes he is an autocrat, he's also very bad for our democracy, it's ironic that an unelected secind house is now defending our democratic rights.
Parliament rules and is supposed to be supreme, we have gone from cabinet governement to government by little cliques of tony'e cronies. If you think that is a good think you're an idiot. The most depressing thing about the whole affair is the gutless behavious of our so called MP's
The only reason he will get back in is by default as Maggie emasculated the Tories and they have no moral fibre or original ideas left, and as a result of our first past the post electoral system. We need PR it would have stopped Maggie Thatcher as well, mind you even she seems good compared to TB I doubt she would have taken us in to Iraq on a lie like Tony Blair.
You live in a free country if you prefer one where you can be thrown in jail without trial go to syria or Iran you would feel right at home.

Maggie is on record as saying that her best legacy was Tony Blair, he's pinched all her policies and is not fit to head a one time social domocratic party. Even the TUC are more concerned to keep the tories out that stick to principles.
He is a man prepared to bend the truth and make up facts top get his own way, what kind of idiot would still trust him.

Ha ha! He's otherwise known as Bush's poodle buddy!
I really object to that, poodles are nice dogs it is an insult to the breed to compare them to Tony Blair. He's more like Bush's arsewiper.

Tony Blur is whatever you want him to be, that is his greatest talent. Personally I cannot stand the sight of him, the speeches are a joy, slight tremor in the voice, spreading of hands in a "Trust me I'm Tony" kind of way.
He has sold the Labour party down the river. He did it to get elected at any cost, his treatment of Gordon Brown shows his moral stance. John Smith must be spinning in his grave.
His latest trick is to try and push terrorism to the front of the pre election political agenda, I say go on then Tony and lets see you answer the difficult questions. As has been said we are now in the postion where the Upper House is acting as the only brake on his Tonyship's ambitions.
The recent attempt to enforce the bill that says a minister can have people detained on their say so without recourse to any legal proceedings was classic Tony. He thought, OK everyone wants terrorist supects locked up, that is a vote winner I will enact legislation. Yes Tony I do want terror supects locked up but you at least have to tell someone why you are doing it. His defence is that the security forces do not want to reveal how they identified the suspects, what not even to a judge in closed session?????.
Fortunately the Commons revolted and the Lords certainly would kick it into touch so poor old Charles Clarke had to amend the bill.
His Tonyship is concerned to the point of hysteria with his "Place in History" and will do anything to enhace his popular image, shame is that there is no opposition to speak of that can change this.
Bear in mind that this ex member of CND has taken the UK into 5 armed conflicts during his terms of office, that is more than Churcill and Maggie put together.
