That's a female buff-cheeked gibbon, which is actually an ape. I'm wondering if this was taken in a sanctuary of some sort...how else would they get this much film?

I've been pinched by several gibbons....they are STRONG! Cool film....

(Val slaps forehead!!)

How could I forget to check with our resident expert on that!!!

Thanks!!

I was wondering where this was, too, mainly thinking those kittie cats

are well-fed probably... that and don't those places often raise a lot

of baby animals together? (I mean when they're REALLY little...)

Well, the gibbon is an adult and the cubs are small. I doubt a gibbon would try that with an adult tiger! ;) They are nervy things...smart, too! I've seen them deliberately drop something, distracting a human, so they can grab a hat or pull hair, etc.

Oh I realized that, I just thought maybe they were in a "nursery" together

and the gibbon's normal fear/respect of tigers was lessened due to

familiarity... I've seen things like wolf cubs raised with german shepherds,

or other "baby" animals together in a home environment that wouldn't

normally be together in the wild...

Ah...I see what you mean. Well, unless we know where this clip was made, it's all just a guess. And cool film!

They must be buddies of some kind-the gibbon was teasing the tiger cubs! Tweaking their tails and pulling their ears!

Yes...I'm imagining the gibbon thinking the equivalent of "GOTCHA! GOTCHA AGAIN!"
