Do you remember the story of the Black Dahlia? The unsolved murder of a lady named Elizabeth Short. Nicknamed Black Dahila because she always dressed in black. There is a new movie about the murder due out next month. Here is a review of it.

New movie about the Black Dahlia
I remember reading about this years ago and I think I saw a TV movie about it with someone like Luci Arnez in it. Must confess I am a bit gruesome and read quite a few books about real-life murders, but I promise you that I'm quite harmless, it's just another weird interest;)

this was released on DVD today, by necessity a fictionalized account of a horrific muder in hollywood. it was never solved. elizabeth short's murder was particularly gruesome. the movie was OK, but a little disappointing to me because of convoluted side-stories.

Something we have in common, Chocoholic.
I love reading Ann Rule books but must take a break after a while or the world starts looking really sad.
As I understand it, Dahlia was a case that Elliott Ness thought he was close to breaking but the suspect in question entered an asylum for the mentally ill and was therefore "off limits" to Ness. I've read Ness never really got over it and that was about his last hurrah in the detective world.
