This show is watched by millions in the UK, do you think it's fake?
This show I think is fake! But have you seen "Ghost Hunters" on Sci - Fi? I like this one. These Roto-Ruter plumbers roama round a "haunted" place with EVP recordings and infra-red and video cameras. Then, if they find any thing suspicious, they try to find an explanation for it (usually they do), so when they can't explain something it's usually genuinely CREEPY! :yh_nailbi
But I am pretty gullible as well.

I am not sure about the reality factor of Ghost Hunters...but I like the show, anyway.
I do believe that the human race is gullable, not by choice, but by nature.
Most people I think would like to gain something for nothing, or gain a material advantage for as little a cost as possible, and this often leads to people being conned or getting less than they thought they were going to get. That covers the commercial side of things, but what about people falling for stories in the media?
People in my opinion love gossip or finding out what goes on in other peoples lives... Lets face it, were all a little curious every now and again, and we like nothing more than a little scandal or having the felling that we are privvy to something that should probably does not need to concern us.
Politicians, for example, have often used the media to influence what people think, they are mearly using the natural curiosoty of the human race and our desire to believe what we read.... people tend to want to feel positive about what they want to hear or read, so I suppose it's natural to belive what we are told.
As for televison? Well, anything that increases viewing figures and thus revenue for the T.V companies is a good thing, in their eyes.
All in all, I think that it's our desire for money and an easy life that leaves us open to being gullable, nothing to feel bad about, it's just human nature.

Being "gullible" is one of my more enduring traits, I think. I'm easily taken in, but then I am also quick (not as quick as I should) to figure it out. I don't want to go through life as a cynic, I also don't want to be a sucker.
I think it's not such a bad thing to be "fished in" every once in a while. But you have to have a sense of humor. You heve to be able to laugh at yourself. Sometimes, I am the most amusing part of my day, I'm good company!!:-6

Same here chonsi.....I have been taken in a couple of times in REAL life, but I guess that's part of 'lifes lessons'.
If you're not gullible, does that mean that you are suspicious and cynical.....or do you become that way because you have been the victim of gullibility ???

Yes, too much time is spent by the majority of the population watching TV. I always limited the time my children could watch it while growing up. They seem to have more activites today neing grown up, rather then watch TV all night long.

I had a horrible time at the clothes sales-buying the last of the summer pants. What wretched colors! I sent away for decent colors-and cords to boot-to weare to school this year. The colors I chose were teal, forest green, cranberry red-nice colors. What's with the khaki look? Ugh..........................
