I'll never forget how insensitive I was the day my husband brought me home from hospital with our newborn. I was young then and unreasonable enough to question why he let the door slam in my face....he had a "hang nail," poor darling! I, who had just delivered through "natural childbirth" was merely thinking of my recent petty experience when I laughed at his excuse.

Ah, Lulu, I see that you chose a good example of how seemingly uncaring the 'weaker sex' can be when it comes to showing sympathy where it is most certainly deserved...

Let me illustrate a medical faux pas of my own that occurred when I was recovering from surgery after the doctor broke my arm (humerus) in 4 places when they were trying to break up scar tissue from a surgery 6 weeks before.

My NOW EX inquired if I thought I could make him a cup of tea for the cold he thought he was catching as soon as the Oxycontin and Hydrocodone wore off sufficiently to allow me to get up and walk around without my feeling dizzy. Look at how thoughtful HE was and how crude I was when I told him what he could do with his teabag!

Upon the recommendation of a good friend who's name I shall not mention but who's initials are LuLu, I have just sat here and read one of the most delightful threads I've ever seen. However, there was one post with left me with a most disturbing question.
