I have a case of road rash on my left leg. I did it last night while playing volleyball. Guess I shouldn't of dived for the ball since we were playing on a mixture of sand and gravel. Geez it still stings this morning. :o

So what's your battle wound story?

I was hit by a car when I was 2 yrs old. They said I flew a house lengths distance. That was a long time ago though.

I do, I have kids who buzz up and down my street all the time. Yelling at them to slow down doesn't work. I actually feel bad for the 2 my husband chased down and yelled at for speeding down our street. :-2

No little kids move fast, and you've always gotta have an eye on them.

I have faint little scars on the front of my shins from barrel racing.

Back in the olden days, we used to have real big metal barrels with the

rim around them and everything.

Not the polyvinyl rounded edge junk they have NOW.

I also walked 7 miles to school every day through 4 foot deep snow...

I put cardboard in my shoes to keep the cold out...

thankfully my stories are less drastic as I get older,

I took an arse over tea kettle spill from my bike a month ago and had softball bruises on my hip and knee, and scrapes all up my shins.

I have had 3 car accidents including going head first over an embankment in a half ton truck, scars on my forehead and a bad back are the result

bucked from a horse and landed on my head literally

Burn like scars on my elbow from a nasty skateboard crash

Burn scar on my leg from a motor bike crash

A 4 inch scar left behind as a result of hooking a wire in a fall that tore the skin up pretty badly. (I was 5)

I have a scar on my forehead from where my brother shot me with an arrow, yes a pointy wood arrow, funny to think about it now.

I am not very graceful.

Innumerable cases of road rash from going in a different direction from the bike for various reasons but the main ones are a hole in my leg where the centre stand went through it when I ended up under a car and an ear stiched back after I headbutted a lamp post.

Worst accident was rear ending a skip wagon - out cold for 6 hours 'cos I split my skid lid in half but it left no scars - honest.

Well being a JOCKETTE all my life my sports injuries are to numerous to mention. :p I played AA softball for a decades my positions were catcher, 3rd base and center field because I had an arm. Well let me tell catcher is a dangerous position to play I have been walked over, cleated (sp), kicked, punched, pushed.. even been in a few knock down fist fights ( I won). Let me tell you girls can play kickass softball I have the scars to prove it.

But the worst injury was when I was playing adult Soccer (football) I was center midfilder. Well I was tracked this 10 foot tall girl, she got her foot on the ball and as I stepped in front of it her foot and the ball smashed me in the face, I went down like a rock, knocked out cold, had a concussion was seeing stars for a very long time..

Water sports I love surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing but they also come with injuries. Especially back in the good ol days when we surfed on long boards..WOOO !!! have one of them coming at you off the top of a wave...:-3

About your ROAD RASH.. just keep it clean and make sure it doesn't get infected asphault is nasty stuff..
ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

Was born with clubfeet and had my heel cords spliced. Then at 25 I had a triple arthrodesis done on my right foot. Basically they sawed some bones apart and put them back together where they thought they should be. Dumbest thing I've ever done. Never healed right and allI did was trade one kind of pain for another. :(

I sawed my left arm and right leg off in a lumberjack man contest. I kept going though and I would have won but I fell over.

Ouch - that is bad. Is there no chance of another remedial operation?

Oh Nomad that's just great

I love it! :D

Me, I've had three back surgeries in my 30s. I've now got arthritis in my lower back but it is manageable. Broke a front tooth in a car accident in high school; I was a passenger in the car that got whacked. My head went into the dashboard and I got knocked out.

That was before everyone used seat belts on a regular basis. Had I had one on, it could have made a difference. :(

Heck I was born with half a brain and an out of line butt that took constant kicking from my parents to keep in line.
