I get first crack at 'im...it's me he's calling a liar. After I watched my mother break down today after being told that her child is probably going to be mostly blind...yeah, I'd like to take a crack at somebody. Can't get at the worthless piece of slime that put her there so I'm looking for a substitute.

Oh, yeah, Criss gets her ass-kicking mentality from her big sister. In case you hadn't figured that out already.

Thanks to you Dawn & Diane for keeping us all posted with the latest details of our deeply loved Criss! :yh_hugs It must be hard on you, (which is understandable) to have to write all the unpleasant injury details inflicted on her. It is so sad for her to have to go through yet another unfair ordeal in her life. Many say Life is unfair, & right now, she is having the Lion's share of unfair!:yh_sad

It can only get better from here, it just has to! :yh_pray

Mama just got told that the sight is gone in it and will not be returning other then perhaps shadows. Very upsetting for her to hear, as I am sure we can all understand. BR has NOT been made aware of this yet as she is still in and out of it too often at the moment.

This is what they have been referring to the therapy for although MamaRider was not aware of it and had been a little confused because BR has motion and response in all extremities..

I tell you the same thing I said to her... we'll take this and thank god for it, if this is the worst. Bottom line, we still have our girl, she appears to still have our girls personality and fight... this is less then nothing. Br with sight in one eye will still be one of the most beautiful and great kids a mother or friend could hope to have.

And we are less then a week into recovery. We give her body time to heal and then we see the specialists. They are specialist because they know more then these folks can, for sure. So we wait, recover and be grateful that we have her...:-4

I guess Ill just have to sneak up on her from the right then.:( :-1

Maybe they'll move her closer to the nurses station when another room opens up.

It sounds as if mamarider is practically living there, so there is always someone with BR if she needs any help.

Maybe they could blutac cards to the walls and what about paper flowers that could be blutacked to the walls and give Criss something bright to focus on?

Would it help if she had a magnifying glass? She could hold it and it wouldn't have to touch her poor sore eye.

What is the long term prognosis? Will she be able to live alone and look after her son? Or will she have to give up her flat and live with her mom? After losing Matt and now her bike and maybe partially her sight, the loss of her independence will be another huge blow to her self esteem and she will probably become very depressed. How can we help her through this?

What about her job? How long will they hold it open for her? Will she be able to work again? I know it's very early days yet but it will surely take a while before she is back to fighting strength.

Is there anything we can do? Could we all write to local newspapers or your MP or senator? congress member? Maybe if we all besieged them with letters they would act. Perhaps get some kind of dispensation for Matt? Maybe he could come home for weekends if he's tagged or if he reports in or something?

Criss is going to need more than our prayers, she's going to need physical help.

What else can we do guys??

Oh no, I missed seeing that. So she has no income to pay her rent?

Will her landlord be understanding and wait for the rent?

Is Josh there alone or is he with his gran? How is he coping?

I hope you don't mind me asking Dawn & Diane.

I was just wondering aloud what else we could do to help? Although I suppose really you wont know until Criss is well enough to make her mind up.

But perhaps people who live relatively close could make tentative plans to pop by to see her when she's feeling better?

Or maybe her old MC club, the Blue Angels, could go to visit her?

We need to give her things to look forward to, to help keep her spirits up so she doesn't dwell on everything that has happened.

I know this is all for the future, but maybe people could start thinking up ideas for us all to help with Criss' recovery. Just a thought.

Get better quickly Criss. :yh_hugs :yh_hugs

Gang, let's not feel too badly about how far away from the nurse's

station she is... they wouldn't even have taken the chance taking

her out of ICU if they thought she wasn't okay to go. Sometimes it's

way better for a patient's MENTAL outlook, too, to start thinking they

can "do it" and rely more on their own fortitude (which we know she

has!!) rather than "I must be really bad off if I'm HERE".

Took me a while of reading to get to this point. I'm SO very happy she's out of the ICU. Yippee! And to hear that she's awake.... Wow. I was under the impression that she was drugged up and sleeping 24/7.

So, let me get this straight, no more chest tube for her lungs, 33 stitches look good, swollen right eye, but no sight so far, broken collar bone, but using her right arm, and a bruised right knee. Did I get it all?

I say thank God she was wearing a helmet. God didn't cause this accident, a stupid drunk driver did! And I hope he pays Royally!!

Thank You all of you who are keeping this page updated for us.

I am not a person of means, so I can't send anything except my prayers. But please do let her know she has those.

And I also pray for Bullet. He must be going out of his mind with worry. I can only imagine the frustration he must be feeling. Can't anyone speak with the person in charge personally and plead for them to let him at least go see her one time? At least that would ease his mind a little.

Hi Gang --

I'm so glad she is out of ICU -- she is moving in the RIGHT direction :)

I liked Rapper's suggestions of bright colorful flowers for the wall instead of the real thing -- what do you think? Can you imagine if we all did this -- we would have her room wallpapered with love in no time at all!

That would be most excellent :-6

We love you Criss :-4

The flowers for the wall is an incredibly great idea. The room is about the same size as the one she was in in ICU, but has two people. Mamarider says there's not really a lot of room for flowers in vases, but if the flowers are to be taped on the wall (note to self...bring tape....) that would be amazing. She'd love it. We'd like to leave what little shelf space is available for the flowers that will be coming from Bullet.

I have a sick kidlet today, so I won't be going to the hospital myself. With her depressed immune system, I don't want to take any chances.

Joshua is being cared for - thanks to whomever was concerned about that. He's fine. :) Her animals are being looked after, and we are paying her bills (so the person concerned about the rent, also, can be reassured).

Keep these ideas, suggestions, and thoughts coming, everyone. Many of you are bringing up points that I hadn't considered, and might need to think about. No matter how trivial you think it is, if you think we might need to be concerned about it, say it. Whatever "it" may be. We're going in so many different directions that what might seem obvious to others may not have occurred to us.

Fantastic NEWS.. This is major and an indication to her strength and willingness to survive at any cost. BR is one tough cookie she will get through this will flying colors. She will have some long term disabilities but all in all she will be BR. I'm so AMAZED at there not being any injuries to her limbs, that is utterly amazing and wonderful.

I'm down with some lung virus that is going around so all I have been able to do the past few day is drag my sorry butt up to read up on BR progress.. She is doing great..:-4

It's a great idea to make the flowers because then they can be HUGE and SPARKLY and instead of missing Forum Garden she'll be sitting right in the middle of it! :D

If we all made a flower or two and put our names on them, she'd feel we were always with her and all around her! That should really lift her spirit! :-6
