What Is Forum Truth?

Post by Paula »

What is TRUE are the people who devote time and accurate information. The arousal to justify a place to communicate, to be a part of something they (have chosen) to contribute...What is Wrong About That? SEND

There is nothing better than being in a forum where there is due diligence taken by the poster to make sure that they can prove or provide evidence of their beliefs. Communication with each other, no matter what our views, is the first step to getting to the bottom of any problem. It is also easier to see the trolls and others of that ilk when they contribute nothing but their imaginary greatness.

I'm quite happy to be a communicator in the garden because it is a nice place to allow the truth of any matter to flourish. People can take some or all of the information but the bottom line is they have the information. A bit of information is better than no information at all. It is the bits and pieces that everyone has that makes the garden. Given freely and without prejudice... what more can you ask for in this day and age?

REPLY. I think that honesty is important when topics are not of a "provable" sort. You can tell when someone is speaking from their heart and, even if you don't agree, it is commendable. SEND. :-6

All people have a desire to be heard. Often, because of lifestyles, or circunstances they dont get the chance. So this is a great place to explore the opportunity to do so. Because the Forum seems to have drawn an incredible group of intelligent, well informed, civilized and compassionate human beings....long term participation requires some thought and restraint. That is a good thing. I have been pleased to see members rally to the defense of gardeners who are attacked,or disrespected. The reason is because this behavior displays the core of human goodness . If the world could have a birds eye view of what goes on here for one day.... The interactions observed would inspire others to strive to be better people. I feel most fortunate to have found this place. Honored to belong.

Someone once wrote "the great tragedy of science: The slaying of a beautiful hypothesis by an ugly fact". No matter how beautifully put an idea or opinion, it ceases to command intellectual respect if it is devoid of truth. The beauty of discourse is enhanced when truth is the watchword and not a grammatical fireworks of words that cannot be proven. History has shown us how Nicolas Copernicus, Galiloe Galilei and others were made outcasts or even persecuted for saying that the sun (and not the earth) is the center of the solar system. Today they are celebrated by the scientific community as heroes because their theses were proven to be true. The same applies to any forum where minds converge to synthesize ideas and opinions for the furtherance of knowledge. Truth is an indespensable pre-requisite that can illunimate the rather dark path taken by man on the quest for what is true about his existence on this planet. When truth is relegated, intellectualism is strangulated while pseudo-intellectualism is promoted.
A formula for tact: "Be brief politely, be aggressive smilingly, be emphatic pleasantly, be positive diplomatically, be right graciously".

Hmmmmm.. but what is the truth. Your side of the story, mine.... perhaps, more important to me anyway, is the search for the truth. Whenever I discuss or debate I do try to keep an open mind, no matter how controversial or how personal the topic. I can in all honesty say that despite disagreeing with people here, if they can offer me a side to a discussion that I have not considered before, make me question my views, then my search for the truth has been expanded.. other factors also come into consideration... honesty, integrity, knowledge... all key elements in discerning the truth.. no matter what the topic of discussion..

Damn.. I hope I am making sense here.. these kinda topics strain the old grey matter..hahaha...
