Ok yea this is gonna be a self gloating thead. :D

But the last few years I have let depression and anxiety take over my life. I didn't and sometimes still don't wanna leave my house for fear of judgement from others. But tonight I attended Awana's (church youth group) with my kids and am now a volunteer. Around 4 this afternoon I was debating going or not, but I sucked up and went. And it wasn't so bad. Well wait, I'm helping with the Sparks group which is Kindegarten through 2nd grade. A really rowdy bunch, but we survived the first night.

I know some of ya'll are probaly rolling your eyes, it's ok. But this was a huge step for me. :)

Actually it's kinda the same Flop. I was outgoing until I started staying at home, then depression set in and the anxiety. It's just now with Zakk in school, I can't keep hidden inside my house no more. :D

Well done Sheryl....although it's a long time ago, I can relate to your post.

1975 - 3 kids under 5.....worn out, no confidence and needing a job. I was lucky because I got some 'homework', then went to work for the same firm school hours, then full time and 30 years later I am retiring from the same company as Production / Training manager.

Good luck ....you'll do fine :-6

Oh Sheryl, it is sometimes easier to stay at home then go out. I know I do that all the time, since I have a handy excuse no one can deny.

But I have to make myself at least every month or so go somewhere, if something comes up. Otherwise, I too prefer to stay at home.

Step sizes are always relative and clearly this was a very big one for you Sheryl. If you're wondering why you didn't do it before it shows you've come a long way. Good for you :-4

Oh Sher :)

I am so happy for you. I know that I can often straddle the line between being 'alone' and being 'isolated' -- the former is good but the latter is not.

I'm proud of you, too :-6
