State quarter collectors....

Post by BabyRider »

Does anyone collect the state quarters as they come out? And if so, have you heard about the Wisconsin quarter? Supposedly, there are Wisconsin quarters out there that have been mis-minted. There is an ear of corn on the tail that got too many leaves, or not enough leaves, not sure which. Any info would be greatly appreciated, as I am sick of looking at the Wisconsin quarter on my dresser, not wanting to spend it in case it's worth a bundle. :yh_rotfl

Yeah BR, I just heard of this the other day when one of my kids "traded" me quarters....then informed me of it.

I'm not sure if it's for real though.

("the Old Man of the Mountain")....that venerable stone face collapsed after eons of looking down, it was a natural formation in Franconia Notch i used to see whenever i went skiing. a true landmark. :-1 The New Hampshire quarter's reverse showcases the rock formation, "The Old Man of the Mountain

THAT'S what is making me crazy. I can't recall if it was a joke, or where I heard it. I can't even find anything on the web about it. Hoping someone will come along who knows for sure...:yh_wait

Abbey, thank you for the link! I don't think my quarter is one of the mis-minted ones, but I'm going to have it checked anyway. (I mean, geez...what do I know?) If it is one of the funny ones, everyone can join me at Bothwells Pub, first round's on me!!
