I Miss Mexican Food!!!!
It's almost time for dinner (tea) and I am hungry for Mexican Food, but alas, nowhere in this city of 400,000 are there any restaurants that offer Mexican Food. There is a good Spanish place, but that's not the same as Mexican.
Ah, Chile Verde, Huachinanga (red snapper), enchiladas, quesadillas all washed down with Coronal beer. But, what the hell, fish and chips it is.

I live in a town with a population of about 8,000 and we have one (has pretty good food too) but they don't serve beer.
Enjoy your fish and chips!!

I had to learn to cook my own Mexican food, because the restaurants here do not make it the same was as in the West.
Shredded beef tacos rule!

I love making chili.
I remember the first time that I tasted Mexican Salsa. It was in Texas and it was on the table as a condiment. I was invited to try it because, after all, it was only a condiment in the area. Everyone does it!
Spoon in the bowl. spoon in the mouth.
Simultaneously, my tongue burned, my eyes watered, my nose ran and I was actively searching out the antidote. None to be found?(the texan humour) Got to love that Salsa.

Never say that here in Maryland, where the big crab feasts have only just started.
Mexican food, oh I love it! Have to make my own here, not a decent place to eat in this place. I remember when I was first dating my husband, and flew back here to Baltimore for a week visit, he wanted to take me out to a Mexican Restaurant. He thought he had picked out the best place in the DC metro area-it was named Chi Chi's. Oh my, when we drove up I looked up at the sign and said, "What is this, the East Coast Hooters?" He was very perplexed. (In Spanish slang, chi-chi's mean hooters for those who don't know) He said, no, no, it's good food. Yeah, ground hamburger meat in the tacos. I make him home made shredded beef tacos the next day and he likes my cooking a whole lot better.

It's green chili season here. Have address - will ship. They only let us ship them fresh though - you'll have to roast, peel and freeze them. I just sent a sack to my daughter in Tennessee.

sunflower seads? Why did I say that? As I was eating pumpkin seads.
When I put my dating profile online I put mexican as my favorite food as that is what I eat most.
My wife put Chineese(sp) as her favorite and I have a hard time getting her to eat Chineese(sp?) even once a week. I do manipulate by reminding her that she said it is her favorite.
We have so many Mexican restraunts that one started to serve Pizza.
And it is very good Pizza at that!!!!

Now I love mexican food here it's viewed as being exotic. Ironic isn't it? Here am I thousands of miles away from Mexico but of the top of my head I know of at least four mexican restaurants, one tex mex that I now avoid thanks to food poisoning the last time I ate there, and yet despite being practically next door in a country supposedly hoching with mexicans you have none.
There are also umpteen chinese, indian and italian restaurants several Turkish and greek. There are several scottish ones as well but we keep them for the tourists and tell them stories of how haggi are bred in the wild specially for them. We even have Macdonalds and burger king both of whom now geavily promote their salad range, but thankfully a lot more choice besides. There's a lot to be said for cosmopolitan living
