O.K. I'll start...

Does anyone else like HOUSE?? The new season started tonight..I'm not sure I'm going to like the way it's going..but the first one always is a little different to get the audience interested.

I sorta liked his iconoclastic demeanor in the past seasons...but maybe it WAS getting old. We'll see.

He does indeed mrsK, especially if heavy metal poisoning is involved. A couple of week's ago someone had anthrax and several other totally unlikely diseases all at once. I'm always enthralled by the speed at which all the tests get done. Not to mention all these lofty medics scraping bits out of people's sinks and rubbish bins er trash cans in between having personal dramatic clashes and seducing their patients. Or, in House's case, assaulting them. All good stuff. Grin.

I am not sure it will "work" with him being pain-free. I think the chronic pain and the limp helped make House who he was. I am not sure if the new House will have the same effect.

I'm a huge fan, love that sarcastic sense of humor. I think the lack of pain is in his head like they were hinting at. His popping pills is part of who he is, I expect his pain to come flying back in another couple of episodes.

I love that show... Hugh Laurie is excellent in that! I loved him in BlackAdder, too certainly... his character seems to be modelled after the character of Sherlock Holmes... with the addictions, deductions, his incredible genius (which is why everyone must put up with him... he's the best.), and he's just so nasty to everyone around him, especially the ones closest to him whom he loves and who love him... he seems more concerned, not so much about the patients, as figuring out a solution to a mystery... he could very well be merely solving a crossword puzzle, for all his concern.

What did you all think of this week's "alien abducted child" episode? I thought it was great. I am glad that they finally told House he was right about that patient from the other week. They should not have kept it from him.

The pain is back...as is the cane and the vicodin.

I liked the Alien Abducted Child better than I liked the first show of the season. With the pain and cane back, House should be his old self again. I, too , am gld that they didn't carry out the not telling him any further than this second show. It would have gotten pretty old next time.

Do you think Cutty is pregnant? And if she is, is "the friend" (can't think of his name to save me) the father?

House rocks!!! 'nuff said!
The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

Here in Italy we are backward steps with these stories.

What does it mean "alien Abducted Child" ?

Do you address to "Doctor House" ?

There was an episode of the show the other week where a child believed aliens were visiting him at night and taking him away.

Doctor House found a disorder in his brain that caused the problem.

I've never watched it but I do love Hugh Laurie. Question for the Americans here; is his accent any good? Does he slip up? He's actually got quite a posh English accent in real life, I always pick up on badly acted English accents in films and stuff. I think that one of the best I've heard would have to be Nicole Kidman's. Fake English accents tend to come over either like bad cockney or the Queen:wah:

Oh the Cuddy thing is so on the move! What a way to leave us hanging for two weeks. Damn Fox!

Move the show to Wednesday so Idol has it's time.

Katy, Hugh's accent is excellent. When I'm watching House I completely forget how posh he can be. Then I see an interview.:-3

The man deserves every award he gets.

Houseisms

Search YouTube for Hugh's audition. Fabulous.

His American accent is great. To be honest, I never had ehard of him before House, and did not even know he was British till I read an article about him not long ago. Recently he won a Golden Globe award, and I heard his "real" voice for the first time. Interesting thing...without even looking, I knew it was him..even with his real voice.

I agree that the Cuddy 'thing' is heating up, but I don't think it will go very far. I think they are both too work oriented. However, I won't be surprised if HE becomes the father of her baby!!!

I think Cameron is getting wise to him. I think she and Chase are going to get it on for awhile, and maybe even fall in love...

I'm glad the focus has m oved from House's addiction. As a background, character motive, it is good, but as the plot mover, it gets old fast.

I agree that waiting two weeks is a bummer!!

Suggestion.

Libertine, Marie, all in the U.S.

Let's not discuss tonight's episode.

The U.K. and others are a season behind.

They don't need spoilers.

O.K. We're halfway through the 'new' shows : After Idol...What did you think of last night's episode? I think I liked it. Showed a side of House that has always been apparent, but that has never really gotten play. And the last scene was so poignant (if a little melodramatic).

I hope the 'lovers' get off it soon. That is getting old.

But all in all, still one of the best if not THE best show on T.V. these days.

After this season I'm going to buy all the episodes on dvd and have a House marathon.

I'm so addicted, it's sad.

Last nights episode was just on time.

I was wondering when something like that would happen. It wouldn't be the least realistic without something like that eventually happening.

I love House. I never knew he had an accent until I saw him on a talk show after the Stuart Little movie. I was shocked. He's a natural. I can't even do a decent southern accent and I live here! I can't imagine doing an English accent for years like he has.
When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.

O.K. How about tonight's episode?? Are we only two weeks from the end of the season, or do we have three to go?? The character developemnt in this particular one didn't surprise me, but it will surprise me to see it come to fruition.

I purposely don't visit any fan sites for House...if there even are any...because i don't want to know what off screen politics and other factors will serve to move the plot, so I can't predict the outcome. It does seem a natural progression except their two characters play off each other so well the story as it is now needs everyone there.

I'm trying NOT to give anything away so the people who don't get it when we do aren't spoiled, but it's hard!!!:lips:

I found it interesting...his way of coping with what happpened last week, I think.

I do not visit the fan sites either, but here is my take on the whole thing. Dr. House can be an @ss at times..BUT he is a good Doctor. I think Cutty and the other doctors see that and are unsure how to deal with him..they may not always care for the person, but they respect the opinion of the DOCTOR. And when House used the word "timid", I think that did it.

I think there are 3 more episodes left, but I have been wrong before.

Actually, I think Cuddy and Wilson especially really DO like House as he is. In the episode much earlier where he was trying to be a 'good guy' they couldn't cope. They do respect his ability and are willing to tolerate his major personality flaws. The others, however are still too idealistic to see him as anything but an a$$. I think Foreman is the only one with even a clue, and that is because he is so much like him. It will be an interesting two or three weeks coming up. I don't see House giving in, but I do see him acknowledging the other's right to his actions.

3 more weeks. The personality plays are great tv. It's what Emmy's are made of.

Although giving a dog a vicodin addiction, welll....:-3

I've been to 'fan' forums. Here's a taste of what they're like.

Are you kidding me? His Hakuna Matata OBVIOUSLY bonded with his cerebral cortex but the real,i.e., underlying problem were the female hormones laced with PABA-236 that were rapidly forming in his marrow.

Uh-huh. Yea. That's entertainment.;)

WOW!!! Without giving it away, do you think it's for real or just the end of season cliff hanger?? I'm not sure how I feel about it.

The show tonight was o.k. but I think it is losing a little of the impetus with all the sub plots going on. I prefer more interaction with the patients even if it is House's typical NO interaction. And maybe a little more of Wilson.

Oh god, the thought of a whole new team boggles me.

OK..a slightly off topic, but relevent to House aside here. I went to an orthopedic doctor yesterday. Told me I need a hip replacement in a few months. In the meantime...he wants me to use a cane AND take Vicodin. Told my husband about it and he spent the rest of the evening calling me Mrs. Dr House. :)

Well, the new season started tonight. It will be interesting!! I think his original team will return in come capacity. His character tonight was a little less arrogant than usual, but I enjoyed the play between House and Wilson.

Looks like another good season
